Loic Remy

Funny post but it makes me wonder why black players are compared to other black players, same with white players?

For instance Sterling is supposed to be the next John Barnes, why not the next McManaman?
Granted he's Jamaican like Barnes but I think you're getting what I mean.

Most French strikers appear to be black!

Seriously? People are thinking he's a replacement for Luis?
He is Lambert are good additions to the squad, but there WILL be a big ass talent coming in. I'd wager it'll be an incredibly creative attacking mid rather than an out an out Sturridgesque player. Someone with a really cool name who can assist aplenty and score twenty.

That's not Remy, but he's still a good signing.

Don't think anyone seriously imagines replacing Suarez is even possible TBH, let alone that Remy's the player to do it even if it were.

It is a decent bit of business though.

It won't stop idiots like SSN making hair-brained attempts to compare them.

@TonyBarretTimes: Loic Remy is due to fly to Boston tomorrow to undergo a medical ahead of an £8m move to Liverpool.

Another player seemingly very comfortable on either foot .. and with his head - loving it !

Agreed. Very exciting signing for amazing value. I was also excited by the Idea of signing Bony (@cloggypop), but this signing has the potential to be one our best value signings since Hyppia.

Remy is a pretty decent signing. We were never getting a world class player to come in to "replace" Suarez.

8.5M is really nothing. Hard to be opposed to getting a premiership proven striker who scores goals on the cheap.

Selling Borini for 14M pretty much covers the Remy purchase with the profits. Great business.

It's a bit odd that we're selling a 23 year old striker worth 14m and replacing him a 27 year old worth 8m, (both with the same length left on contracts).

And it's stranger still that most are happy with that.

And so am I.
