He isn't also our most physical player by some distance. No one else go into as many challenges as him. He makes a lot of challengers but that isn't enough for some people. He is a 100% team player but even that isn't enough.

Player after player and manager after manager have said he is a fantastic leader but that still isn't enough.

He isn't world class but the is PL top class. The PL don't have a single top class defensive player, well maybe one, Kompany but he almost never play.

If you want to replace him then it will probably cost more than £40m to do it and it would be a big gamble.

Lucas has alot of qualities and his desire and workrate mean he'll always have a place in the squad. He DOES have flaws in his game that he's failed to get rid of though. If people jumped on his case unfairly last night, then it's a result of previously seeing the same stupid things week in week out. Last night was a soft freekick, but we've seen him give away unnecessary setpieces in similar areas throughout his career, it's the main thing that he is criticised for. And he'll either stand on the pitch and laugh about it or complain inexplicably when it's been a blatant foul.

It's a bit rich reading Modo bang on about agenda's in a match thread, given he ruins plenty going on and on incessantly about Lallana and his other pet hates like Sakho (Agger) etc.

Lucas deserves to play. That's for sure, but we can do better in the transfer market.
I like the fact that you're defending Lucas but it's already been done to death, primarily by yours truly. Just let it go. This leads nowhere.
