Moreno

Haha i recall quite a fair few posters were lamenting about spending all that money on Moreno - that he was bang average, blah blah

and now he's one of the best fullback ever.....

#remindertoself - never, ever, ever believe what i read on here unless i've actually seen the player play

Knew fuck all about him, but felt concerned about the price, the fans' reaction to him leaving and the views on here about him.

Thought he played well last week and was unlucky for the goal, played excellently today.

As soon as he smashed that goal that was it, I liked him. Probably be a bad call some point down the line given my record, but I'm signing up for a completely instinctive and irrational love-in

Love him already. I've said it before but there's just something really likable about a lot of our signings this year. Can, Markovic, Origi, Balotelli, Lovren - so much charisma there.

He looks very handy both defensively and going forwards.

He's absolutely rapid, which helps but definitely has his brain engaged, which is refreshing to see after Enrique

The one thing I like about Moreno is that off defensive corners he defends at the top of the D.

If we manage to clear it & counter, he is ridiculously quick and can contribute largely to these attacks.

On one occasion last night he was almost through on goal from a counter but Sterling couldn't get the ball to him.

He may not be the best defender around but boy, does he have pace !

His pace and acceleration alone makes up for his lack of positional awareness cos he's so fast, that you can bet that he'll surely beat his opponent in 1-on-1 situations.

Think you can credit BR with that because there is no way Moreno is doing that off his own bat having just arrived.

Lack of positional awareness ?! Would you care to identify some situations I have certainly missed then ?
