Championship transfer news and rumours: Liverpool in chase for Newcastle man

Newcastle United's Moussa Sissoko
Liverpool have joined the race for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
That's according to reports in French publication L'Equipe , which also suggests Chelsea are interested in luring Sissoko away from St James Park with the promise of Premier League football.
He has already been linked with Hamburg, but the 28-year-old could now be tempted to stay in England.

He's a player I like, nice utility midfield option. Useful type of player to have around.

According to Newcastle fans, highly talented but only delivers when he feels like it. Not exactly the type of player we need for creating a team which punches above its weight.

Isn't that something good management could fix ? Klopp has taken no hopers and unknowns and turned them into something special.

For every one good game he has there are 3 or 4 where he's hopeless. The one good game is usually against us at St James's park.

Ha, I really like him. I mean could he be available at a decent fee of around £10M we could do a lot worse.

Strong like an ox, fast, skilled. Yeah, I like him.

Good player, but quite similar to our other midfielders as he cannot play the holding role, which is what we really need.

I'd take him, we need someone who can burst out with pace on the ball in midfield.

I agree with that but I also do believe we really lack wide-players or players for the wide forward positions at least. Not saying Sissoko should be our key target, but he could definitely bring some strength and power to the attack.
