So you have woke up, come to your beloved LFC Community site and sixcrazyminutes looks a little different..

I have at long last implemented a Portal.. Navigation on the site will be a little different..

www.sixcrazyminutes.com lands on the Portal as its home page and well the Home Tab also take you to the Portal. There is also a sidebar on the portal for Easy Navigation to the Forums..

Topics from our 2 most popular Forums will Automatically populate the Portal... Whilst Mods will have the ability to assign specific Topics to the portal..

Suggestions welcome..

First very initial impressions, I like it.

It's similar to tapatalk, & the most popular threads functionality took me a little while to adjust to, but now I enjoy it.

On a similar note, even better than that is the 'subscriptions' tab in tapatalk.

It would be good if there were a way to sticky this to the top of the portal (or as an announcement above it) for a week or two until everyone adjusted to it.
 
Hmm its nice I just think it's a bit pointless on a small site like this..#ungrateful

That can be done, but it then requires to be managed..

i.e some one physically sort the order of Topics.. Given we let this site Self Manage, I''ve set it to sort by date..

This way it can be automated, and it requires little management. .

Forums that automate..

Football Forum.
General Chat

Mods have the ability to promote threads from Other Forums manually if need be.. and demote Thread from the Portal if need be..

I will see if I can implement a Stick Thread function in the automated system, I'm also looking to implement go to first unread post function too..

Don't go to too much trouble. Maybe use that site announcement thingy so it appears at the top of the page instead.

It's only needed when there's something we absolutely need posters to see so using the announcement function probably makes more sense.

Their is that.. this time of the year we are proper quiet.. so come the new season.. we will see how it works..

... initial impressions: can read thread intro without needing to open it. That's an obvious plus!
 
It was a mistake to have a home page a few years ago and this is no different. Sorry but I think it's pointless.
 
Topics from The Football Forum and General Chat are the only forums that will now automatically populate the Portal..

Mods however have the ability to promote threads from any forum to the forum..

I have Added Recent Posts, Recent Threads, Recent Popular Threads (Last 7 Days) widgets to the Portal which generates listings from all active forums
 
Just change your bookmark to whatever you want (like the forums page) and you'll never see it.

I'm not complaining about it by the way. I'm just making a rubbish Portal 3 joke.

I have the main forum page in my bookmarks bar. This portal thing, I have no idea what it is and I have yet to find it.

And I'm not arsed.

Click on the home tab at the top left of the page when you build up the will to do so
 
Is it just me, or has the responsive theme changed or been turned off? Looks like I'm getting a desktop view on mobile.
 
You have changed the skin to non responsive

Turn it back from the skin selector in the bottom left hand corner
 
Don't think that's it, I have SCM-DXF-Red. Also tried the default and that's the same.

Actually it is responsive, it'd just it shows a lot more components than it used to. It's not as mobile optimised as it used to be. It's probably just me if nobody else is noticing it though.
 
What Phone and browser are you using ?

You may have enabled.. Request Desktop version of the site..
