I imagine your standard supporter will still go to the likes of the Harry and Albert and avoid paying £7 quid a pint or whatever in their pre-match libations.

I'm sure it's a noble institution beyond nobility. I haven't been since I lost the ability to hold my breath for an entire 'trip to the toilets' back in the early 2000's. So a few £7 pints of Duff twice a year will have to suffice.

The club doesn't seem to get involved with any of the products that it is supposed to be in partnership with. For example, Dunkin' Donuts coffee is the official coffee of Liverpool Football Club but you cannot buy it in the stadium.

My mate went tonight for the ladies/reserve thing that was basically a health & safety test. Said it's fucking huge & he's gonna get some Opera glasses to take next time cos his seat is about 2000 feet above sea level & the players look like lego.

It's a beast!

Local residents have been given written notice that Anfield road is going to remain closed to traffic til at least March 2017. Apparently there's a statute in place that means once a road is closed for a certain period of time it loses its status as a public right of way.

This seems to be the way the club are going.

The plans for Walton Breck Road look pretty decent.

Got a link to the plans? (apols if quiffing?!)

I said my mate is being kept on till Christmas, well his boss reckons he's heard that they're gonna plough straight on with the Anfield Road renovation.

Could be all a bit Graham but the project has gone a lot better than they thought it might, sales likewise.

A little info from my neighbour who used to work at Carillion as project manager and is still in the construction trade. Carillion are getting hit left right and centre with penalties as they so far away from handover, and a number of sub-contractors working on behalf of Carillion don't want to work on the Anfield road end extension if they win it because of the work pressures being put on them.

Ooooh, interesting. My news is from a carillion project manager too. They're total cunts as payers so I can see why subbies would be fucking them off

Punter's report on the new Main Stand experience:

Enormous concourse, light and airy compared to the grotty old pigsty. This guy in a hat playing "Smells Like Team Spirit" all on his own, and making a pretty good job of it.

There is a bit more leg room in the new Main Stand and the seats are more comfortable.

Bad news: there was a gobby football expert behind us who kept shouting rubbish. His favourite was "Give it to Milner" whatever the situation.

New stand looked pretty cool, first time I've seen that kind of atmos in there too, but fucking hell Liverpool... How can you run out of beer before half fucking time in the lower centenary? Weren't you expecting us?

Upper in the main stand was the same.. Came back on though five minutes before kick off for the second half..

The biggest pain in the ass was the fact no water to wash your hands after having a slash.. It seems either it was not plummed in our someone forgot to turn a tap on somewhere
