Anyone planning on going the Norwich game via train?

The 12 o'clock kick off means any fans [living in Liverpool] who are planning to go the game by train will have to go the day before. The first train from Lime Street is about 9am, which doesn't get into Norwich until after the game's finished.

With it being Easter weekend too, hotels and train fares go up etc, further proof that the FA and people who schedule the fixtures don't care about the fans.

Why couldn't they have swapped Everton's game with United to the early kick off?

Anyone been stung by this?

They only care that the corporates get there on time. My mate booked his flight back from his home in Barcelona for the Palace game before they changed that. Now he's totally fucked.

Just down the train line for me, so if anyone has a ticket to the away end and can't make it, I'll happily take it off their hands ;)

They really don't give a fuck. The fa Cup final at 5pm on a Saturday FFS.

Firstly, there's no way Wembley should be the national stadium, cos it's in fucking London. Secondly, fans are again fucked as they can't get trains home.

It's a complete joke, but until they replace the entire fa with an organisation that understands geography & basics of logistics it won't change.

I noticed this earlier when looking up the time of the game. 12:00 is just a ridiculous time to hold a match of teams who aren't located near each other.

I bet roads will be rammed and car parks over flowing on the day too.

Getting to Norwich by car is also all single carriage roads isn't it?

Fly helicopter.

It is from Chelmsford/A12 to Norwich, it's single carriage way for about an hour after Ipswich and that road is a cunt, however Liverpool fans would be coming in from the east via the A11, which is dual carriage way. It does amazes me how poor the road connections to Norwich are compared to other cities, it's dreadful.

It seems for once our bitching and moaning hit the press (and rightly so)

[Article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-fans-left-furious-logistical-3424384] Liverpool fans have been left furious with the decision to stage their visit to Norwich at 12pm on Easter Sunday.

The Reds face a trip to the Canaries this weekend as they look to edge ever closer to their first league title since 1990.

The game is set to be televised by Sky Sports, but the broadcast company have decided to show all three Premier League games that day, meaning Liverpool fans are left with a 256-mile trip on Easter Sunday for an extra-early kick-off.

Hull City host Arsenal in a 2.05pm start, while Manchester United face a trip to Everton later that afternoon.

Sunday's first train from Liverpool Lime Street into Norwich does not arrive until nearly two hours AFTER the final whistle has blown at Carrow Road, leaving many supporters with a logistical nightmare to negotiate.

Season-ticket holder Anthony Devereux is planning to travel to Carrow Road via car, but was critical of the decision not to swap the time of the game with local rivals Everton who host United at 4pm.

"There's five of us in one car, and four in another," he told Mirror Online.

"We're leaving about 5am, but there is the Everton and Manchester United game that is kicking off 4pm.

"I know there isn't as big a rivalry as there is with Liverpool and United, but it's still there, especially with David Moyes going back [to Goodison Park].

"The reason they have the early kick-offs between rival teams is to stop people drinking early, so why couldn't they have swapped those two games?

"It's Easter weekend, so hotels are going to be more expensive, train fares go up, so you could have spent £200 before you've even got to the game."

A popular Liverpool fans forum was also littered with naysayers of the move, with one user named @Brizzle reflecting: "12.00 is just a ridiculous time to hold a match of teams who aren't located near each other.

"I bet roads will be rammed and car parks over flowing on the day too."

Another user under the pseudonym of @FoxForceFive fumed: "It's a complete joke, but until they replace the entire FA with an organisation that understands geography & basics of logistics it won't change."

Brendan Rodgers' side are four wins from their first league title in 24 years, althoughManchester City's 2-2 draw with Sunderlandon Wednesday means three wins and a draw at home to Chelsea will be enough for the Reds. [/article]
