Loris Karius has a broken hand and faces up to 6-8 weeks on the sidelines. Mignolet must of had his voodoo doll out #LFC

Apparently, it was when he went to clear a cross during the Chelsea game and accidentally punched Lovren's head.

and fuckity fuck confirmed

Liverpool have been rocked by the news that goalkeeper Loris Karius will miss the start of the season after breaking a bone in his hand.
The German shot-stopper, who was hurt in Wednesday night's defeat to Chelsea in Pasadena, is expected to be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks.
That means it could be October before Karius is ready to make his Premier League debut.
It's a devastating blow for manager Jurgen Klopp, who was expected to pick Karius ahead of Simon Mignolet for the opening clash against Arsenal on August 14.

The £4.7million summer signing from Mainz will leave Liverpool's California training base on Friday to fly home to the UK.
He's likely to need an operation to correct the damage which was caused in a collision with team-mate Dejan Lovren at the Rose Bowl.
Just before the hour-mark Karius came for a cross and inadvertently punched the Reds centre-back.

The keeper played on but after complaining of discomfort on Thursday he was sent for a scan which confirmed the fracture.
Karius recently revealed that he had given up on his Olympic dream in order to establish himself as Liverpool's No 1. He turned down the chance to represent Germany in Brazil following talks with Klopp.
However, this setback for the new signing means that Mignolet will now continue as the club's first-choice keeper in the early months of the 2016/17 campaign.
Liverpool also have further cover in the form of veteran Alex Manninger, who joined on a free transfer from Augsburg this summer.

Got injured in that collision with Lovren during the Chelsea game.. Baaah. Our luck with injuries is awful.

What are the odds that Mignolet will also get injured and it will be Manniger who starts for us against Arsenal?

Can we get Bogdan or Ward back?

Or is Manninger any good?

If we're going into the new season with Mignolet and Moreno starting then I'm ruling out top 4 right now.

He'll miss 5-6 games. No point in ruling anything out.

Great that we're playing away to Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs during those weeks...

It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation.
Perhaps Mignolet will be better with a more solid defense in front of him or our defense will improve with a more accomplished keeper behind them.
Probably truth in both.

Probably. Let's face it though, if he doesn't perform after this kind of rocket up his arse, he can't have any complaints.

I have my suspicions he would have started anyhow and would only have been replaced when the inevitable blunder happened.
If history is anything to go by he did seem to improve somewhat when he was put under some presure previosly

Fucks sake. Could this old fella we've signed go in? I'd rather anyone than mignolet and moreno start for us next season. Lucas in goal and balotelli lb?

What kind of tart can't play football for 2 months because of a broken finger? This is what happens when you go all metrosexual and moisturise.

It's not a big deal. Mignolet is not the horror show that everyone seems to think, and I don't think Karius is quite the game changer that he's being made out to be. We'll cope for a few games without him.

Mignolet is a good shot stopper and there's still little to suggest karius is any better
