Was just listening to the radio and the news reporter said that "Liverpool ONLY need 7 points from their last 3 games" to clinch the title.

Only? Only? So to be assured of this title we will have gone unbeaten in the league since the turn of the year and will have dropped 6 points (if we take 7 out of 9).

Oh and there's the small matter of who the games are against. First there's a gnarly and fired up Chelsea who need no motivation to beat us. Then it's Palace away, a team that has shown it's no pushover and it's fans will provide a cauldron of noise and then finally Newcastle at home, which looks like it could be easy but what game is, when you're trying to get over the line.

Yeah if only it was easy to only get 7 more points out 9. We are in the driving seat, but this title race ain't over yet, and anyone who says it is, is either too confident or is Jose Mourinho playing mind games.

If we beat the chavs it's as good as. I still think City are going to give up at least 2 more (while we may just win all 3 anyway), and Palace are mathematically safe now and those players will be thinking about summer hols and the world cup (despite what Pulis might say). Newcastle last day, at anfield with a presentation afterwards? Come on!

It's worked on you anyway! Calm down!!

If we beat Chelsea, we will still need 4 from 6. So it will be far from done unless City capitulate against WBA or Everton. I'm not losing confidence. I'm just done with people, not necessarily LFC fans, suggesting this is a walk in the park!

Yeah and that's what I'm saying, if we get past the big test then the combination of last game at home and the way we've been would be IMO almost a formality, before the possibility of City dropping points to Everton (very possible right now, don't really see it elsewhere hence why initial post says about giving up 2).

Fat lady and all that jazz I know, but if we destroy the chavs I'd bet my left nut we're bringing it home.

The wankers on Northern Irish TV (UTV news), said we only needed to win one game to "all but assure the title".

ok it's about getting over the line any which way you can ....but i would love to do it in style . Imagine winning the last 3 , that will be 14 wins in a row , unbeaten in 19 . That would be very special .

Plus it would remind me of my sporting hero , the beautiful Constantina Dita of Romania. I came home once in the early hours, drunk and the rest, during the beijing olympics . I stuck on the TV and in my state ended up watching most of the women's marathon . But it was brilliant cause this old girl broke from the pack mid race and just ploughed on . The commentators dismissed her and said the pack would reel her in , she'd tried this before and failed . I always remember the point where there was a time check and the commentators started to realise she was so far ahead the rest would struggle to catch her .
So on she went , not worrying about the rest , backed herself and won . And that is what i want from us , it won't be easy but let's not worry too much about the others and just plough on believing in ourselves .

4 points could be enough - but chelsea ... chelsea and crystal palace and that coach of theirs - in fact both those games could potentially where we lose it or win the title.

I'm still not thinking that far ahead. One game at a time is the only way to go. Bring on the chavs.

Chelsea's the big one. Even the most jittery of pessimists on here would surely expect us to be able to win against Newcastle. If we were to beat Chelsea as well, then a draw at Palace would be enough. Of course, that would then make the final game almost unbearably tense, but I still think we'd be too good for them.

Personally though I think City will slip up again. The also have to go to Palace, next Sunday. Even if they win that, they go to Everton the week after, and they were excellent today - they're not crumbling at all. So IMO 2 draws and a win will be enough. But I think we'll win the next 2, and that will be enough.

Look I know we will, but there was a lot of players off their game today, I don't want to see it next week, ya know :)
