If Delph goes, he deserves more booing than sterling

Proper cunts trick

Atletico in talks to get Filipe Luis back off chelski. He was quality for Atletico but hasn't got a sniff over here.

[article]Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has confirmed the Spanish club is in talks with Chelsea regarding left-back Filipe Luis' return.

"There are negotiations in place but I don't know how fruitful they will be," Cerezo said to the Spanish media. "Filipe Luis is a magnificent player.

"We would be delighted if he comes back and I think that in the end, we will find a solution.

"As always, the financial aspect takes precedence over the sentimental aspect but I believe a deal can be reached."[/article]

A left back that looked great in Spain and went to shite in the Premier league.
Sounds familiar.

I dunno. To gauge how good a player actually is, it's worth listening to the people who watch him week in and out. And, seemingly, not too many Sevilla fans were disappointed with losing Moreno.

I didn't poll them all, obviously.

I only watched him once in the Europa final against Benfica.
Very meh.
He showed pace but not much else.

Felipe Luiz hardly played though. Think he would be a great full back in the PL aswell.
As a lot of the signings Chelsea make, it was a luxury one.

His Brazilian nationality means I can shoehorn Thiago Silva into my Ultimate Team, though. I'd be disappointed to see him go. Keep him as a squaddie, Jose!

United have bought well, but they've still got a very average defense, I'm not convinced Ramos would rectify that either.

This, and their goalie was their best player and worth many points to them for each of the past two seasons... They have bought very well, and they've strengthened, but not in the areas they need it the most.

Regrettably, with Valdes getting the bum's rush from van Gaal they might well end up keeping de Gea, at least for this season.

However, they do need to strengthen up front too (big time, in my view), though I expect they will.

We'd 'like' to. We just don't want to.

It'll be interesting to see how that turns out. I reckon Delph is good enough to earn a regular place in that side, but being *this* much in two minds about the move is hardly a good start.

And WTF were Villa thinking when they set the clause at only £8 mill?

They'll have to pay him up his contract. He'll probably get the majority of the money which is probably why he signed it. A no lose situation for him.

For real? He decides to leave and they still have to pay up the rest of the contract?

I'm in the wrong job.

Wow.... Delph has made himself look a right prick.

“As has been widely reported I initially turned down the opportunity to join Manchester City. That decision was purely down to the love I have for Aston Villa and its great supporters.

My decision to stay initially was purely based on the emotion and feelings that I hold for the club and the people there that I would be walking away from - rather than looking at the football opportunity that had been placed in front of me."

Rough translation - "... and then I saw the size of wage packet on offer".

It's a good deal for City. He's a talent and £8M is fuck all. He's another Englishman as well.

But yeah, Delph looks like an absolute prat.

Still reckon it's about the takeover myself. They could have just kept offering him more at the time.

Timmy is going to have a job on keeping that lot in the premier league, he may swap his gilet for a life vest

I don't get the business scum has done with Bayern. What does he have last season - 20 games? They already have one injury prone old key midfielder. Why would they pay top wages for another who is clearly past it?? Chances are that both him and Carrick will play less than 20 games each next season. Where will it leave them??

Well, I would have thought that as long as they don't play the same 20 games as each other then, unfortunately, that'll work out spiffingly well for them.

I think they could easily suffer from a lack of continuity. It won't won't work of you ask me. Carrick is borderline Hargreaves already. The Schweinsteiger is not far behind. I can't imagine he will get better once he is forced to try and keep up with the pace of British football.

I think it's a brain fart paying 200000 a week for that service.

Van Gaal is an idiot. A dinosaur.

I'm not so sure adding schweimsteiger is such a bad move. Granted he is at the wrong end of his career but he is fucking class.

That he is. It's arguably something of a gamble, but they've presumably done their due diligence on the medical side, plus they've insured against things going wrong by getting Schneiderlin as well. They still need to strengthen the spine of that side (CB and CF), especially if de Gea does end up going, but I wouldn't bet on them having got this wrong.

There is absolutely no guarantee that this transfer will be a success.

However just because a player in his 30's has an injury filled season playing less thsn 20 games doesn't me they can't go on to play 30+ games again.

Gerrard miss a load of games in 2010/2011 and went on to play 30+ the two seasons after that.

Might not happen like that but worth the risk.
