You must remember this

Also Riedle played 4 times in the 1990 finals, replacing the suspended Völler, but not in the actual Final

Riedle had a bit of a reputation as a goal machine before he joined us. I remembered we always lamented the fact we didn't score many headers or from set pieces and Riedle was a specialist with headers.

Plus he was a World Cup and Euro winner. AND he was a goal machine in those early versions of CM and other variations of the game.

So you can imagine I was kinda excited when he joined us even though his career was winding down by then.

But then, a young Michael Owen emerged and soon everyone had forgotten about Riedle as he was sparingly used.

Bernad Diomede - god I remember being really hyped that he was joining based on being in the France squad!

And he left the August after this was it? Or was he gone already?

Oh sorry, you meant players who played a final while still at Liverpool, then yes, it is just Hunt & Torres, Alonso was gone a year before he assaulted de Jongs boot.

Being so good in the air and an unselfish player anyway, he was an excellent partner for Owen and IMO helped him big-time while Owen was establishing himself. I have a feeling it was an injury which prevented him from playing more often, though it won't have helped that the club was drifting badly under Uncle Roy at the time.
