Pochettino to Chelsea?

Another thing to note of course is that although Chelsea got extremely lucky when Abramovich took them over it is no longer the case that he can just buy the league like he used to, they are no longer the financial powerhouse they were 15 years ago.

City is owned by a flipping country, a country who are not suffering from sanctions...when players are being bought and sold for hundreds of millions even a billionaire might feel more reticent flashing cash...

EITHER way... I'm guessing that Hazard might want to fuck off... Chelsea have got real problems, even spending fairly big wads of cash they can't just go and buy the best players at huge fees now, the huge fees are genuinely eye watering.

I'm not sure that's the case, with them spending 230+mill last season, they've proved that if they want to spend a massive amount, they can. Abramovic has nearly unlimited pockets himself, and could put them in debt if he wanted to. If Messi was available and wanted to go to Chelsea, and Abramovic wanted him, and the price was 500mill - do you think he wouldn't buy him? He does what he likes with no fucks given about FFP or balancing the books. You show me any years of austerity since he's been there.

Net spend was ca. £50m.

Some of the sale sums are just unbeliavable and must contan huge cashback/under table Money. It is so fucking obvious. Luis wandering to and from PSG in megabucks deals, but noone from officiating governements try to follow the Money?

I have no clue what their net spend was last year, what I am saying is that 15 years ago the could blatantly outspend any other club in the league and they did so time after time after time...

In doing so they grew a reputation as the money bags of the league and could attract players even players at competing clubs in the league

They don't seem to have as much of that pull now do they...

City have outgunned them.

Victor Moses is not as scary as Arjen Robben was... It's been a while since they truly splashed the cash.

There is a lot of talk that if we beat Madrid there is every chance they will move for Poch. I think this is considerably more likely than the Chelsea link and would be just one of the many positive consequences that might come of us winning the CL. Get your money on Kane and Poch to Madrid.

That little story has been bouncing around the newspapers for months, with most of them saying that Levy is desperate for Real to win the CL and/or La Liga (when that seemed even remotely possible) because the feeling is Zidane is toast otherwise, and a new manager, a player purge and £300m incoming Galactico will follow.

And yeah, Kane and Poch are top of that list.

Another reason for us to win, albeit minor.

Given the vast sums of money immediately at stake, and future revenues also, I wonder how much goes to the referees from parties like Levy?
