Does Rodgers have the balls to make the big decisions going forward? Cause we had a few questions answered and a few new ones asked.

I'd rather the team hang there head in shame, because that was probably the most winnable champions league game over ever seen

Sterling, for me, is getting a lot of undue stick. He does need a rest, but all of this shit touch, can't finish yada yada yada stuff is way over the top.

In almost every game this season he's been our most potent attacking player (not saying much but still) and today it was the same again. I really dread to think how much worse this team would've been without him this season.

* Lucas doesn't make our midfield tick, but he gives our defense more protection
* If we put Balotelli + Lambert + Borini together we'd have a decent striker
* I don't really think this is Rodgers' fault - we should have ended this game well before their equalizer. No urgency from the players ... too many casual passes etc
* Not really that bummed - could be worse, we're only a few points from 4th! ;)

Rodgers attempt at winning ugly meant playing exactly the same way we always do only with a slightly different setup with slightly different personnel. That's just not going to cut it.

I felt he missed an opportunity to take control of the game earlier in the second half. We should've brought on someone that could hold onto the ball and create, like Coutinho. They were leaving themselves wide open time and again.

Awful awful performance by the team and for me, poor in-game management.

Roger's bottled it. Leave Sterling on and we had a threat up front as he was combining really well with Gerrard and Lambert. As soon as he came we were pinned in our half. Awful, gutless, decision.

Am I the only one that still hears Gerard Houllier screaming 'Danny, Danny' from pitchside in every single game for the last decade?

That'll be more child support payments in nine months

4th in our group?

Sterling was fucked

Markovic would have been a better option I think

Our defence is full of fannies.

That second goal we conceded was embarrassing. We must be he easiest team to play against in Europe

Conceding from a set piece? Who saw that coming.

Shite performance and by some miracle we can qualify if we beat Basel.

Cant wait for saturday and another shite performance and dropped points against Stoke.

@Liddellpool: Rodgers: "Wonderful character tonight. Disappointed in the goal at the end but it's irrelevant. We were outstanding."

I wish he'd shut up for a bit. Outstanding and wonderful, two words I would never use about tonights game.

I would have said committed and motivated. We stopped a losing streak and have a one off cup final vs Basel with home advantage in a fortnight.

Football's such an easy game, even 10 year olds in school know how to pick a team out of their classmates that would be good.
How can you buy 100 million pounds worth of players and be so appallingly static and out of options in attack? what the fuck were they doing in the summer? this squad was all about having options yet we have no option.
Only thing we had today after the midfielders passed it to the defenders and the defenders passed it back and so forth for decades was to send a long ball to Manquillo, no option other than that.

Haha! BR saying we were outstanding? Good god. How on earth are we meant to motivate our players to reach the right level if a bang average performance like tonight's is classed as outstanding by the manager?
Let's just applaud mediocrity and stagnate at this level shall we.

Yeah, he's not the first very good player to miss a one on one.

Think Gerrard and he need a few games playing near each other to make things work. Gerrard made a few runs which Sterling could have found him on but looked elsewhere. Also, while I thought he did pretty well, Lambert had the chance to put Raheem clean through early in the 2nd half but turned it back behind him. The through ball was so obvious it actually required greater vision to pass it behind him.

I reckon that's about right.

Maybe harsh on Skrtel and generous to both Ming and Henderson but about right.

How about that miss by Sterling one on one?
Would have been a different story had that one gone in.

Let's be honest - there were only two players who could have played that ball for the second goal. Fortunately one of them had the ball.

He missed a one on one - same as Suarez, Gerrard, Rush, Aldridge, Torres and Owen have all done. Otherwise he gave them a torrid time, set up our equaliser and generally looked our most dangerous attacker.

If he'd got it the result would have been different but he's still 19 and was the reason we were in front - very unfair to hang the draw on him.
