I realise this is really scapegoaty and selectivey, especially given that was the fucking shittes team performance I’ve seen from us since Hodgson (that’s not exaggerating either, we were so bad I was pretty much hoping we wouldn’t score) but… I can’t fucking stand Jose Enrique.

Of all the eye-abortion that was served up yesterday, and there was fucking plenty (looking at you Mario, looking at you defensive shape, looking at you everyone passing it like it was a fucking drone), the constant sight of Jose fucking Enrique receiving, turning, pirouetting, losing, every single fucking time tipped me over the edge.

I can’t stand that useless cunt.
I gave away my disguise in with the home fans when after 5 mins I stood up and shouted "fuck off Enrique" after he did exactly what you described. I'm not even going to mention Johnson and his complete inability to get the basics right. Oh shit, I just did.

Didn't Carragher say he was the worst professional he has ever seen, in terms of work ethic?

I think he said he was completely unteachable, in terms of organising a defence.

Not sure about the work ethic.

Manquillo should have played. What's he done to deserve being dropped for either of those two nobheads?

Speaking about the Reds, Spanish, left-back Enrique, he said: "I stopped talking to Enrique in the end, I had no idea what he was going to do and he didn't listen to me anyway."

It was in reference to the notion that the foreign style defenders go on the offensive far more than their English counterparts whilst the two pundits were debating what was best.

Keep him fresh for Madrid?

Cos we have rotate-able fullbacks now and the likes of Johnson and Enrique shouldn't be so shit as to look bad vs QPR?

It wouldn't be too bad in principle, but my hunch is that Manquillo wasn't rested. I think Johnson is first choice. I changed my FF team last week in anticipation of that tbf.

I'll be happy to be proved wrong if Johnson is subsequently dropped.

Then you are the one we can blame. Burn the witch.

Johnson wasnt that bad yesterday. I thought he did ok.

Enrique on the other hand...

Oh and in the Echo Player ratings (fans pick these online I think) - Balotelli got 2.8/10 Haha.

I watched Johnson throughout the first half like player cam. He was utter shite. Control poor, passing poor etc etc. £100k a week...and they think Adel Tarrabt is stealing a living!

I would like to give Johnson a sliver of credit for prompting Raheem to get up and take the free-kick quickly, thus leading to a goal and stuff.

Please don't threaten my life.

Fair enough. But that was the second half ;-)

Smith recalled by Rodgers.
Either Moreno is fucked (injured) or Enrique (proper)...

Only just caught up with whole game. Fuck me what has happened to skrtel and those pansy tackles. He used to clatter people. Bobby Zamora ffs is shit. Enrique for their first goal the lazy shit and Marios miss was pathetic.

What s difference a year makes. [emoji15]

Wow, that's fucking brilliantly devastating analysis. Really enlightening about set piece organization from a couple of players who know all about it. Very interesting analysis of the Gerrard-Vargas thing – I didn't notice it during the game. It's really inexcusable how the whole team just mentally switched off like this defending a 1-goal lead in the 91st minute. And Neville is right – our complete inability to deal with the simplest 60 yard floated ball into the box is a scandal. Last season Skrtel used to win pretty much every single one of them – WTF happened to that guy?

Nothing at all. He's having his usual one good season followed by one shit season. He'll come good by the end of the season again.

Friedel was one of the commentators for the game on the channel I was watching, and I thought he had provided pretty good insight. He was very critical of Skrtel and his consistent habit of dropping off - said it was a nightmare for keepers to deal with. Also thought Lovren was quite good against QPR for the most part. Doesn't count for much though when as a unit we're a fucking shambles.

Perhaps Skrtel is a slow learner. It took him one full season to adjust to Rodger's tactics and philosophy. Now with Lovren demanding him to play higher and drop off less, he feels outside his comfort zone again and as a result his confidence has taken a hit.

At this point I'm so desperate I'm willing to try to Toure pairing with Lovren. And we need Flanno to come back soon; this defensive line needs at least one real no-nonsense defender.

I don't rate Skrtel, even when he is doing well I always feel he's playing on the edge of panic. There's rarely anything calm about the way he plays. I'm not saying he's awful, but I don't think he's calm, composed or imposing particularly. I certainly don't think he's good enough for us.

But he's obviously not the only issue with our defence.

I'm beginning to wonder if Skrtel has something of the "big-time Charlie" about him. In pressure games he can sometimes be immense - he's the only CB I ever saw outmuscle Drogba in his pomp, he was one player who did OK when we scraped past Cardiff in the Carling Cup Final and he won his battle with Costa when Slovakia beat Spain recently.
