POTY

Surprised to see Rashford among the YPOTY nominees.
He hasn't been particularly great this season.
I would have thought the TAA should have been in with a shout of being nominated

Voting was in January wasn't it? Gomez was main right back up til then.

Next year you'd fancy Trent to be nominated

I still think it's laughable Kane's nominated. Surely it should be one or the other?

And speaks volumes about sessegnon

That's fair enough. I know Rashford has hardly started since the arrival of Sanchez.
Perhaps he was more prominent for them in the first half of the season.

Even then, I don't think rashford was that instrumental... Must be fuck all youth

Just saw James Maddison's stats (14 goals 8 assists in 39 app). Wouldn't it have been better to reward/acknowledge his efforts instead of those 2 turning 25 in a couple of month's time?

Young player should be U23. Meaning not have turned 24 before the last day of the season.

Ridiculous to see 25 yo on the list.

And Firmino should be on the POTY list ahead of Silva, Sane or De Gea !
Yeah

Can't agree with that

2 have been instrumental in winning a title, the other instrumental in united not being a laughing stock this year.

Instrumental doesn't mean better than Firmino (and that's, figures courtesy of the BBC I think it was on YouTube, in a £850m team vs. a £470m team). Firmino's stats on everything from scoring, assists, tackles, kms run, weetabix eaten, teeth whitening used .. in fact everything ... are simply some of the best in Europe never mind England. As a forward his stats rival theirs as midfielders, whilst being superior in both defence and attack. Silva, Sane and De Gea have had good seasons but they've done nothing that exceptional, IMO of course, to put them ahead of Firmino. They've had decent seasons but POTY ? Just padding.

You're comparing someone at the top of a spear against 2 wingers.

Tackles from a striker are meaningless really for most teams.

And, as is always the danger when looking solely at stats, you're taking away the fantastic work Silva and sane do

Firmino has had a good season for a striker. Sane and Silva have been instrumental in a dominant city side.

They've been better (in a different way), than bobby

Bobby being in poty would be more blatant padding than those 2 IMO

There's been some brilliant players in this league that are being overlooked

For sheer comparison between points won with/without a player, lascelles deserves a nomination

Nick pope should be there as much as de gea

The whole poty is top 4 pandering.

And this is nominated for by players isn't it?

So clearly everyone in the game sees something in those players more than bobby

Voting was in January? So it's over the whole of 2017? If it's voting for the season 17/18 in January then it's a farce.
