From the presser today:

Shaq was left out so there were no distractions. We only wanted a football story.

He was asked if he'd spoken to Buvac about the game. He didn't seem pleased to be asked it, and gave a curt 'no'.

Keita - he's back, looking good and a decision about him playing or not will be made tomorrow.

That's pretty much it.

vid starts at 3.24:

Any further news about Buvac? Do we know what actually happened yet?

There won’t be an announcement from the club until the terms of his exit have been agreed,” Pearce told the Echo. “I thought it would have happened before now but clearly it has dragged on with lawyers involved.
“I certainly don’t expect Buvac to return to Liverpool. Officially, he’s still first assistant coach on the club site. That job really belongs to Pep Lijnders now but the Dutchman can’t be given that title until the loose ends from Buvac’s departure are confirmed.”

That was from a few days back.

Wonder what happened to cause such an acrimonious split. Macca?

I've not heard a peep. There's the reported stuff about him becoming very withdrawn and basically just shutting down at HT in his last game before Klopp kicked him out, but why it got like that I haven't heard one reliable explanation yet.
Has he ever been diagnosed with psychological issues ? For such a major rift to develop, one would think over a very short period of time, something major must have gone wrong. Maybe he screwed Klopp's wife, without his permission.

I suspect there's been some breach of trust. Klopp expects total openness and loyalty from his assistants, and to be fair he's exceptionally good to them - whenever he did his Opel ads in Germany, for example, he divided each fee in two and gave it to Buvac and Krawietz, and he's done the same for various promotional gigs right up to the past year. But unlike Pako under Rafa, who always had some ambition to be a manager himself, Buvac, as most know, is a really introspective and quiet character who wouldn't last a minute as a high profile number one with media responsibilities, and has never seemed remotely interested in going it alone. It could be that, in spite of this, some club decided to sound him out, and he didn't tell Klopp, but even that would be very surprising. I'm not sure that he even has an official personal agent. The only stuff that came out the club last summer was that - for some unknown reason - he'd just appeared to lose his focus in recent months - 'like a slow-punctured tyre' was one phrase someone used about his attitude - and Klopp and Krawietz first tried to dismiss it as a passing phase until their own greater workloads made them start confronting him. But as I say, since then there's been nothing at all spoken about what's really been going on.

Taken together, what you say about Buvac himself and the pattern of events overall might tend to suggest some problem away from the club which has exceeded his ability to zone out of it and concentrate on the job in hand, IMHO of course. It may be that nothing's been said because no-one within the club apart from Buvac himself actually knows anything.

Whatever the underlying reason, I hope the guy finds some peace.
