Am I reading too much into this or does this mean he'll now be used as an option at LB? Or even first choice? Will Klopp make any signings there?

Do we think he could he perform the role adequately? Is there any success stories of a CB being pushed to FB and doing well (save Maldini)?

Positives -
He'll most likely hold his position better than Moreno.
He'll be stronger in the air.
We'll have more height at set pieces.

Negatives -
Slow on the overlap.
Less quality on the ball in the final third.
Can he even cross a ball?
Could be exposed by any quick tricky winger worth his salts.

Perhaps I'm reading too much into this. Guess I'm a bit old school, where the number 3 is a LB.

It's a bit strange to have a change of number (to 3) for no reason though. Besides, I'd have thought he'd have taken the number 5 shirt given it's a traditional LCB number.
