Breaking News on BBC

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has been suspended for 30 days by Uefa after it opened disciplinary proceedings against him following a failed drugs test.
The suspension is provisional until a final decision is taken by Uefa's control, ethics and disciplinary body.
Sakho, 26, tested positive for what is thought to be a type of fat burner after the Europa League win against Manchester United on 17 March.
He chose not to challenge the results.

Doesn't that just mean that they have 30 days to decide how long he'll be suspended for?

Kinda like being held whilst awaiting court date.

That would make more sense.

I assume the 30 days will be taken off the final punishment?

Surely gonna get 6-12months when they do ban him. Hopefully it'll be 6 as he's straight away admitted guilt really.

I think he will get 18 months.

With the whole tennis debacle and there hassnt been another high profile football case for a while has there ?

Yeah, but Sharapova was part of some evil Zombie Communist Stormtrooper doping programme, or something.

Sakho's just another dopey fatty like Kolo. Seems unfortunate we have both of them.

Maybe we'll have to find a way to loan him to a team in a country that isn't governed by UEFA? Like MLS or something? Or do you think we'd just keep him training with us throughout said period? I can imagine it being a full season ban.

At least.

A loan would make more sense than simply keeping him training, if we can get one arranged. At least then he'd get game time.

I'm guessing Uefa can probably ask FIFA to make it a worldwide ban anyway.

Although if he did go to the States after a year their we might be able to sell him as an offensive lineman.

Can we sell or loan him to China seeing as they don't give a fuck about these kind of things
