Sterling is a great player, I'm not saying he's not, but infront of goal isn't where he's best. It comes to something when we leave the strikers on the bench when Sturridge is out and player a young player that isn't particularly great there, much like he's wasted at wing back.
Sturridge is great infront of goal, I just wish he wasn't always fucking crocked.

Out for a month according to Sky Sports.. Confirmed by Hodgson..

Fancy selling your best stirker and relying on a pensioner, crock and a immature tit to power your forward line..

No matter what you say about Brodgers.. he fucked up there.. Big time..

if we don't make Top 4.. that is the reason why we haven't.. not Gerrard getting sent off against the Scum..

You only need to have a look at the League Table, our severe lack of goals is hurting us..

our Goal difference is not good enough for the Top 4...
You said at the start of the Stevie me thread that Gerrard's sending off was probably costing us a top 4 spot.

Dont think anyone has confirmed that its a month yet. Sky Sports and Hodgson arent worth shit.
That said, with our luck he'll probably miss at least the next 3 games.

Why is it Rodgers fault though? Was Balotelli his first choice? Didnt he want Sanchez, Remy etc?
Its been well documented now that he could chose between Eto'o and Balotelli.
Now, those responsible of putting together a list of transfer target should take a long look in the mirror.

Everyone at the club should take some part of the blame but saying that Rodgers fucked up over our striker situation is a bit short sighted.

Yes.. given our current scenario..

However if we had the correct strikers in place.. that scenario wouldn't of mattered..

Shoud never been allowed.. to get to that stage..

ETO and Balotelli.. ?

The priorty should of been a striker, to replace the Striker we had..

Irrespective of whos fault it is, it should never of happened...

Rodgers has to take part of the blame together with this 'Transfer commitee'

Its madness to sell a 75 million pound striker your team was built around without adequatly replacing him in the first place.. Balotelli and Eto choices just seemed very last chance saloon scenario..

And what would you call correct strikers?
Who was available?

everyone has their price.. plenty of stirkers throughout europe...

I though it was madness not even considering making an offer for Demba Ba.. He has banged them in since joining Beskitas..

That was the point. Eto'o or Balotelli after failed attempts for Remy and Sanchez.
Hard to blame Rodgers if thats his options.

That said, he obviously has to take the blame for this aswell. It just shows that our "set up" didn't work particularly well.

Cannot beleive our scouting network is that poor our only options was Sanchez and Remy.. come the fuck on..

They knew Suarez wanted to leave at some point.. they should have had a silly list drawn up given the amount of money they knew they would receive for him..

If we signed Demba Ba to replace Suarez in the summer the internet would have broke.

Madness not even considering an offer for Demba Ba?. He had just scored a goal to help us lose the league and has an odd history with unknown injuries. Fuck Ba.

Your point.. ?

We signed Michael Thomas.. He scored the winner at Anfield that won the title for Arsenal...

Ba was a proven prem goalscorer currently in his prime.. Not saying we should of signed him, but I find it bizarre we didn't even consider him...

It's gas. We didn't lose for 15 games in the league and Jono had to keep his lid shut.
Sturridge gets injured and we lose to united and he spirals out of control again. ;)

lol... Rodger has done a stellar job turning our season around.. I don't deny that.. But I maintain like I did earlier in the season.. we got our signings with the exception of 1 or 2... all wrong...

Fair enough with Thomas, but he signed about 2 year later aged 24 no??

Bizarre we didn't consider him? Wtf? If we signed Ba you would have cracked up claiming he wasn't good enough to replace Suarez. I'm not sure why you are bothering using Demba Ba man as an example here.

A lot of the forum will agree with you that we got a lot of our summer signing wrong.

Players where out there.. we just seemed to amble along with signing a striker.. like we always do...

felt a touch of arrogance about it...

Do you think Demba Ba was good enough for us to replace Suarez or did you just want us to consider him but not actually sign him?

You don't know what players we considered or even looked at. No one knows. We do know we tried to sign Sanchez. We then seemed to sign Remy for it to fall through when the owners heard Balotelli was available. Don't get me wrong, I wanted a sexy striker too but I don't find it 'bizarre' we didn't consider Demba Fecking Ba.

I would of been happy with the signing.. not a stellar player mind.. but he scores goals.. something our current crop lack...

Remy deal was a bizarre one.. given the problems with Studge, it looked like a gamble worth taking.. though he hasn't been ripping it up for chelsea.. (not getting games though).. That being said I would of preferred Ba over Remy...

How the fuck has Sturridge injured himself this time?

Repeated pointing up to God placed increasing strain on his piriformis and iliopsoas muscles, but it is thought not enough to have caused this latest problem. After specialist examination, it was concluded that in fact the Devil smate him for his excessive public devotion to the Holy Father, after which he was left mighty sore.

So, not to be to controversializing... but, this is probably good for us right now. He wasn't gelling with the team and we'll go back into form with Sterling up top. when is IBE back?

I would have liked Rodgers to be more judicious with Studge's playing time because of the lack of cohesion the team was showing once he came back.

I don't get that last bit. The Studge hasn't exactly been overplayed, and the reasons for the team's lack of cohesion go way beyond him.

I think Sturridge has been a way off full fitness myself.

I doubt we'll see him firing them in again in top form until next season.

If we ever do. And we have to plan like that. Love him to pieces. I'll give him all the time in the world to come back. But I wouldn't rely on him. He's officially a long shot to be fit.

We haven't been able to press with him in the team the same way. That effects our whole performance as a team. The simplest difference to see, is that we haven't been winning the ball back in the other team's half. Which is when a lot of our most effective quick interplay happens. Despite a few more goals for, we were much harder to beat just a month a go.

Yep, if you look at the City game, alot of our chances came from stealing the ball back in their half and going straight for the jugular. We haven't done that with Sturridge up there, that's exactly the point I made in my Sturridge thread a few weeks ago and everyone jumped on the "he's just back from injury" argument, which is fine and true, but there's an underlying point that's true too - he needs a partner and he needs players around him doing the harrying and chasing. We put Sturridge up there, lost Ibe and dropped Sterling deeper. It showed.

This. It also surprises me to see some people saying he's finished already.

The pressing issue goes beyond Sturridge/Sterling starting as a striker though.
Sterling is wasted at RWB.
Having Coutinho - Sterling behind Sturridge would probably go some way to solve it.
Add Lucas/Ibe and it looks a bit different.
