Worst January of Football I can remember..

Teams have sussed us out.. we look pedestrian, toothless... we just have no answers..

I've alluded to this for a couple of months but was blasted as usual.

We badly need additional pacey skillful wide players like Mane.

Our current style only works when everyone is playing to the top of their game and we have zero cover in any position in terms of quality.

Here's one idea for free: stop crossing when we only have midgets in the fecking box.
Yep. We seem to be doing far more of this and far less of getting to the byline and cutting back .. which is how we've scored plenty of goals this season.

So where is Brendan ? His man missing two abso-fucking-lutely gilt-edged chances. But then you know strikers make all the difference.

You knew this was coming didn't you Bren.

Yep. Southampton played us like a carbon copy of the Swansea game. There was nothing new or more urgent or creative about us today.
Teams that are able to sit back against us are likely to get a result.

BTW Studge really fucking pissed me off tonight. TWICE he couldn't be arsed running all out for ball ... until he realised in both cases that it wasn't, in fact, going out of play.

Once on a breakaway that ended up as a goal kick, after he subsequently lost the battle with the defender, and once the defender beat him to the ball (on our right in the 83rd minute) and ended up clearing the ball that should have still been in our possession in the final 1/3.

To be fair most of the crosses tonight were just aimless punts into the box. It's a worrying sign though as it suggests a team that has lost faith in its ability to create chances and will just roll the dice on a hopeful cross.

And 2 or 3 times he stood on the D waiting for a pass to reach him instead of stepping towards the ball, and a Southampton defender nipped in and stole it

We were the architects of our own defeat. we created sufficient opportunities to win that game. We all saw it.

Congratulations to Southampton by the way for taking their opportunity when it came.

Simply can't be arsed with player ratings but yeah, as Dirty Sanchez said ... a carbon copy of the Swansea match in that we slowed it down in the first half when we should have been at their throats and then when we did up the pace in the second we were all over them. We simply don't learn.

Lallana's passing was awful today, very disappointing. Can ditto. Milner ditto. Sturridge ditto. AA ditto. So many attacks fell apart because of poor passes when not under pressure. I really can't understand why.

I don't know, when we now tear Feb a new one we will be glad to have one less fixture to play....

Sturridge was disappointing. He wasn't exactly the only one.

Perhaps my faith in him is misplaced, but the main thrust of my argument was us having a top quality striker and reliable goalscorer

That was maybe Sturridge pre-injuries and not now, but it's certainly a requirement, and has been since Klopp arrived.

Don't see anyone arguing with it now though

Yeah, let's start a row and rub it in that Brendan's favourite didn't score. We lost. Hardly a time for I told you so.

This is exactly the time Brandan would be rubbing it in if it were Firmino or Origi who failed as the #9. I'm just getting there first as I'm frustrated as fuck and Studge is going to be the object of my ire.

Dont agree. First half was like that, but we looked more like the team we were before Christmas in the second half.

I must have missed Firmino being ace

Maybe I was having a piss

We were exactly that team vs. Swansea too .. up until we slowed it down again after scoring the second. Is it the team or Klopp's instructions ? Weird that we would suddenly (as in 2017) start this slow paced play when we are in possession.
