So anyone feeling like we might pull off a win?

I'd play:

-----------------Ward

Clyne Skrtel(if fit) Caulker Smith

----------Stewart---Henderson

Milner---------Firmino------Coutinho (if fit)

-----------------Sturridge

Just want to see if Stewart can do what he did last time.

I'd be inclined to give Stewart a go too. I'd go with that side, maybe not throwing Skrtel back in though into such a big game.

I'm pretty sure we'll see the kids and Benteke again. Wouldn't risk either skittles or Studge and firmino struggles to keep his energy levels up I feel so he will possibly be rested

Ward has to play.
It will be a mix of kids and maybe Caulker, Kolo, Lucas, Benteke, Ibe. Possibly Origi.
Skrtel isnt back yet, still 2-3 weeks

Its not a dreaded match.
I'd rather progress in the EL than the FA cup this season. A win is a bonus

I think we will win, simply based on the law of averages. They arent a particularly good side, if we play them 4 times in one season and dont win any of them then we deserve to go out of the cup. Not really bothered who plays other than Mignolet, dont want him near the team.

With our league position it's probably time to concentrate on the cups but I'm not sure if that means we play a strong line up or persist with the young players as at the moment who knows which team would play better.
The older players may be more experienced but the younger player have more energy and enthusiasm.
I'd like to see Sturridge and Firmino playing up front though.

You've got to let the youngsters see this through with an opportunity for Coutinho/Sturridge/Origi to get 30 mins if fit enough.

And definitely Ward in goal, just to see if we've got any back-up keepers who are able to not fuck up every other game.

Caulker, Benteke, Smith, Teixeira, Brannagan and Stewart will all start. Hopefully Ojo too. Be nice to see Sturridge get a game at some point too.

Yeah, Skrtel isnt available yet. Lovren and Allen will also miss out but could both make the Villa game

It's probably going to be

Mignolet

Flanagan Caulker Sakho Smith

Branagan Stewart Milner

Teixeira Benteke Ibe

With a few seniors on the bench : Ward, Toure, Enrique, Lucas, Coutinho, Origi, Sturridge

Think we'll field the cup team with these changes: Flanagan for Clyne (rest) plus the injury-forced swaps (Lucas for Allen, Ilori for Lovren).
Hope to see Mignolet dumped as well.

Not having Enrique anywhere near this team greatly increases our chances of a result. I hope the guys returning from injury (Coutinho, Origi and Sturridge) will be on the bench, and we'll play solid in the first half and not concede in that period. The threat of conceding an away goal plus the introduction of Coutinho and Sturridge will hopefully put pressure on West Ham in the second half and see them buckle.

---------------------- Ward --------------------
Flangan --- Caulker --- Ilori ------- Smith
---------------------- Lucas -------------------
-------- Brannagan ----- Stewart ----------
Ibe ---------------- Benteke ------- Teixeira

subs: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Chirivella, Coutinho (Lallana), Origi (Ojo), Sturridge

Fuck, Brannagan misses this game. From the Echo:

Press conference key points

And that’s it from Jurgen, he looked fit and well after the operation.
The main points from the press conference:
  • He’s feeling good after appendix op
  • Coutinho and Origi to return against West Ham
  • Sturridge looking good in training, planned appearance against Sunderland couldn’t happen due to early subs
  • Sturridge will appear against West Ham
  • Klopp wants solution to ticketing problem - says walkout is his problem
  • Brannagan will miss West Ham due to illness

Many thanks for this

Don't think it counts as double in this competition.

I always think we'll win. We could be playing a combined Barca/Real XI and I'd still fancy our chances. Football is such a depressing sport.
I don't think I've ever had so little belief in the team. We've had worse squads but this one just has no endearing qualities about it. Apart from Flanagan.
