Tottenham are said to announce a £20m a year deal. We are far more valuable brand and this could easily pay for the expansion without having to ask season ticket holders to pay more for their season tickets. What would the objection?

It's strange that the new stand didn't have naming rights on it as I doubt there would have been too many objections.
I suppose it would depend on what the ground would be called then as you don't want anything too ridiculous.
Adidas Anfield sounds better than Dunkin Donuts Anfield but either way it's a shame if it has to be done at all.

They've done a fair few fans surveys that include stadium naming rights & the results are always that fans would dislike it.

I'm guessing (cynical bastard that I am), that they doesn't want to waste some of the goodwill they've generated on stadium naming rights that may also be wanted by any new wealthy potential owner in future.

A few weeks back i read in the online edition of Echo that discussions with Far East based companies are going well and we should be closing the Main Stand naming rights deal soon. Broadly 8-9 million pounds a year for a 10 year period. There was also mention of combining both the Main stand & the training kit deal, which was a bit strange as the Bet Victor deal does not come to an end till the 18-19 season.
