If you are going to troll a footballer at least get the gammar correct.

Hes clearly the worst kind of vile money grabber. I hope we fuck him off and his career Scott Sinclairs.

Aidy Ward - Purple Aki in disguise?

I'm glad I saw this photo. I'm starting to see things more clearly now

Rodgers is currently doing his presser before the Arse game.

@JamesPearceEcho: Rodgers: "Raheem is not going anywhere this summer." #LFC

@TonyBarretTimes: Rodgers: "Liverpool is one of the superpowers of world football. If it doesn't want to sell it won't sell."

@JamesPearceEcho: Rodgers on Sterling interview: "There was no permission from the club. It surprised us all. But he's a young player who is still learning."

@JamesPearceEcho: Rodgers: "For Raheem, it's purely about the football. What the kid is trying to do is put off talk about him being all about money."

He's got 2.5yrs left on his contract, not 2, which is good, Rodgers confirmed. This whole thing can get to fuck, he's going nowhere so he can get his head down the spoilt little tit. We can look at the contract in 12months time or something. Having a fanny attack every time he's halfway through a contract.
If he plays marvellously between now and the end of the season and singlehandedly propels us into the top 4, then he might be lucky and we might offer him something good this summer, otherwise he can get to fuck.

He should apologise to his teammates. I don't mind most of the haggling that goes on but I really hate when one player implies that his teammates aren't good enough for him. Reina did it, Torres did it, Suarez did it, as if they were solely responsible for the successes and the rest were responsible for the failures. Urging the club to bring in more good players to strengthen the squad is obviously a positive thing, but they all seem to end up demanding stars to suit their own sense of their lofty status.
This just reminded me of Rooney a couple of years ago

Asked for players, got them, ended up on the bench

It was fucking glorious

Is Sterling really that good ? I think he's definitely a gem but by no means, a fully polished one yet. He's not even close.

He's believing his own hype and pride will be his own downfall.

That interview with BBC only confirms that he's more or less had his mind made up about leaving, with the door left slightly ajar - probably wanting drastic assurances from the club and Brendan about their title ambitions and big name signings who will excite. Of course, money always play an important factor too.

I say, if we can keep him - great. But if not, boot his arse out and don't let him hold us ransom.

Use the money and get Reus or Dybala instead.

When are some people going to start to come to terms that we're never signing Reus.

I've said it before but he reminds me of a young Shaun Wright Phillips. No doubt I'll get blasted for this but right now I'm pissed off with the little shit. Sell the cunt. If he starts scoring goals and grabbing assists then my mood might change. He did well last season because he was playing next to arguably one of the best players in the world. Suarez went out of his way to help him as well. He's good and a talent but his attitude suck balls. Fuck him. £50 million to whatever mug wants to pay it.

.

The club has a culture of hype at present. Did you see Thierry Henry's face when he was told recently that Coutinho was known as the Little Magician? Quite rightly, he pointed out that a few flicks and four good goals was hardly deserving of that kind of title. The difference is, of course, that Coutinho's a modest lad who genuinely appreciates being at the club, knows that he's being improved and wants to work. The only reason Sterling's top scorer is because we don't have a fit striker and he's been given so many chances even someone with his poor finishing was going to get the odd goal. He needs a reality check, urgently.

I agree with you for the most part Red, although I think he'll become a far better player than Wright-Phillips.

He's being a wee fucker, but I do put most of the blame on his advisors. I can't imagine half the shite I'd come out with if I was told what he's probably been, at 20yrs old.

In saying that, if I was earning 35k a week at that age, I wouldn't be here, what with all the cocaine n all.

I'm hoping upon hope that Rodgers has the stones to drop him for a game or 2, to give Markovic, Ibe, Coutinho, etc the chance to show that we'll be fine without him

Someone needs to show the little tit up

Is fucking right. Little upstart needs his wings clipped a little. Just a little though. Drop him for a few games - let the media weave their predictable magic. If he Goes (Which he probably will) At least we've shown some balls.

It's very wearisome isn't it?

It makes an old chap like me nostalgic for the days when what our players wanted most in the world, was to win trophies for Liverpool FC.

Honestly, I'm done with modern footballers after this

I wouldn't generalise. Ibe, for example, strikes me as a really decent young lad who wouldn't dream of behaving like Sterling has done. And before people say, 'Wait until he gets a bit more hype,' I'll stress: I really don't think he has that kind of ego about him. The same goes for quite a few others in the reserves. Sterling arrived at the club with an entourage already established around him. Kenny tried to drive them away once they started their little games, but once he started playing for the first team they were always going to be trouble. Brendan saw that pretty quickly, too, but you can't control this stuff in this era. But I still think we're doing well at bringing up most of our youth players with a great attitude.

Interesting comparison with SWP. I remembered how SWP burst onto the scene and he kinda bore some resemblance to Sterling in the way they liked to do those jinking, twisting runs with lightning pace.

But then his career just nose-dived and I can't even remember the reason or cause for it. Strange career that.

If Sterling's not careful, he could be weighed down by his own hype and ego and see his career fade away into mediocrity or worse, oblivion, like SWP's.
