Sturridge and his mental frailty

It's a real shame, because he is a brilliant player. I'm starting to think it's more mental than physical. Hope and wish Daniel can get back to winning form, very soon.

Does anyone know what's actually wrong with this dickhead now? Last I heard about 2wks ago was the he'd 'bumped' into Ibe in training and had a bruised knee? How is he still out now with a bruise? Surely it's got to be something significantly more serious?

It's too much fluid on the knee.

Not terribly serious but one of those injuries that can take ages to shake off.

Nothing to do with mental frailty, it's all about chronic inflammation

Yeah I bumped this one as I couldn't see another.
Can't they drain fluid or has it got to naturally dissipate? Otherwise I can see him breaking some sort of record for most games missed by a footballer for fluid on the knee.

Knee injuries are difficult to sort; I damaged mine a few years back and haven't play top flight football since.
I dislocated my elbow when I was a child and never played top flight football.

That dislocated elbow must be the reason why!

I don't understand the specifics of it, but Flanno was almost ready to come back and then he had fluid on the knee and that seems to have set him back months.

Cue sicknote being out for the rest of the season then. Maybe he really is looking at Pato.....

Flannagan had work done to drain the fluid only for it to return? Due back Dec I think.

Mine is well & truly fucked too.

The doctor wants me to have surgery but I'm putting it off for as long as I can as it's not definitely gonna work.

I got bollocked by him when I told him I'd been jogging, he told me it's a sure fire way to fuck your knees up & I should stick to cycling, swimming or something else non impact for my cardio.

Mines usually ok but will then go on me for seemingly no reason & make twisting or climbing stairs a real bitch.

Aren't you entitled to a second opinion? Even if not, would he get the hump if you asked for one?

I asked my osteopath, whom I would always consult before any doctor for anything musculo-skeletal, about this once when my knee (which I dislocated playing five-a-side nearly 30 years ago and which still gives me gyp occasionally, much like yours does by the sound of it) was playing up. He reckons the minor op where they scrape your knee out is fair enough if necessary, but no-one should agree to a full replacement unless absolutely desperate. According to him the track record for such ops is poor and they often end up making things worse.

Could just be in your head. Have you tried being mentally stronger?

Could we use him in the canteen or something? Have him dish out the beans and jacket potatoes.
Get something out of our 150k a week expenditure.

If you are intent on running at least stick to turf/grass, but yeah I'd take his recommendation seriously.

Plus cycling is about a million times more fun.

I was screamed at for suggesting we sell him as soon as we can.

I still stand by it. He'll never be fit for long. If he comes back in and starts scoring we should sell him in Jan.

Waste of money.

So many players ahead of Studge on that list. Sooo many.

Waste of money.. Thats a bit OTT.
Wouldnt sell him yet either. Hopefully he's back soon.

We had him on an even keel before Hodgson stuck his feckin oar in. If we can do that once we can do it again, plus we'll never get someone of the Studge's quality for less than ridiculous money and there are other holes to fill in the squad. No need to rush this one IMO.

The only good time to sell would have been the same summer as Suarez when his value was highest.

But there would have been riots if we'd sold both
