Man United extremely keen on Lazio pair Felipe Anderson & Stefan de Vrij [Sky Italia]

Arsene Wenger holds talks with Geoffrey Kondogbia, Arsenal favourites to sign midfielder [Sky Italia] (really really good signing if they get him - he's a top quality DM)

Chelsea want The Ox as part of Petr Cech move to Arsenal [Mirror]

Arsene Wenger patiently waiting to see if he can bring Karim Benzema to Arsenal [El Confidencial]

Rodgers doesn't believe in them. He prefers midfielders who can do a bit of everything, and TBF that point of view has its supporters on here. The problem with it IMO is that, without absolute top quality right across defence and midfield, that approach can leave you very open at times, so my view is that we do need a DM and probably will for some time to come, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if Rodgers takes us down that track.

We're worryingly quiet on the defensive midfielder front.

Spanish newspaper Sport have claimed today that Tottenham have made a 28 million euro offer for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

I know it's only June but it feels like a bit of a boring transfer window so far.

Sterling as the big transfer story of the summer so far... anything more interesting happening across Europe?

Who are Real after?

[article]Paris Saint-Germain have made an approach for Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, according to the German club's CEO Heribert Bruchhagen.

Trapp, 24, signed a new contract at Frankfurt last season, tying him to the side until 2019, but is reported to have a €9 million release clause in his contract.

Bild reports Trapp flew to Paris on June 4 to hold contract negotiations with the Ligue 1 champions.

Bruchhagen told Sport1 "We know that there has been an offer and Paris approached Kevin."

Trapp joined Frankfurt from Kaiserslautern in 2012 for a reported fee of €1.5 million and has played 75 Bundesliga matches for Eintracht since then.

He played seven times for the Germany under-21s until 2008, but has failed to break into Joachim Low's senior side since then.

New Eintracht manager Armin Veh said: "In football you have to be open for discussions. There are only a few clubs like Bayern [Munich] that can afford to refuse to negotiate."

Veh added to Frankfurter Rundschau: "It has to be our aim to buy a player for cheap and sell him expensively. If you achieve that you made a good purchase."

Frankfurt have already agreed terms with a possible successor for Trapp, according to Austrian paper Kurier, with Heinz Lindner set to join on a free transfer from Austria Vienna.

Lindner, who has played seven times for the Austrian national side, has already announced his departure from Austria.

"Several times I had the opportunity to make a move abroad and it never worked out. Now I am a free agent in my best years," Lindner is quoted by Bild.[/article]

Mandzukic to Juve:

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has unofficially confirmed the signing of Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid by telling Sky Sport Italia that he is looking forward to working with the Croatian.

Juve's general manager Beppe Marotta was reported to have been in Madrid earlier this week to discuss terms with the former Bayern Munich player and his current club, although there has not yet been an official announcement.

However, Allegri confirmed that Mandzukic will be moving to Turin next season by welcoming the 29-year-old to the Serie A club.

"He's a player who has scored goals in every league he's played in," Allegri said. "He's got character, is an internationally experienced player and he's going to do well in Italy. We've signed him because we wanted him. He's a great player and I'm delighted about his arrival."

Allegri also suggested that Paul Pogba would be making a mistake by leaving the Bianconeri this summer, saying he will have plenty of time in future to seek a new challenge.

"He's young and he needs to stay at Juve to grow further," Allegri said. "He's in an environment where it's easy for him to grow. He's got many years ahead of him and Juve are on the level of anybody else in Europe and he needs to have the right motivation to play another great season.

"We don't need to sell anybody. It depends on what the player wants, but I've spoken with him and he's happy to stay."

Mickey Quinn said on TalkSh!te earlier that he hears from within the club that we'll be making about 5 more signings this summer. Given the source this could easily be bo11ocks, but there it is FWIW.

[article=http://as.com/diarioas/2015/06/20/english/1434804376_930455.html]The paths of Sevilla and Stoke City have crossed once again in the summer transfer market. While the English club are one of Sevilla’s rivals in the race to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka, now there is a Stoke player, Steven Nzonzi, who directly interests the Europa League champions.

Sevilla have made an offer for the Frenchman, who was linked with them last summer, but their first approach has been rejected.

Concretely, according to The Telegraph, Sevilla made an initial offer of £3m (around €4m) and it was turned down as it was considered ‘derisory’. Without being a carbon copy of the departed Stephane Mbia, Nzonzi has most of the characteristics that Sevilla are currently looking for in a midfielder: he is of a good height (1.93m) and has the defensive quality to cover the full-backs’ forays down the flanks.

Nzonzi came through the ranks at Amiens and joined Blackburn Rovers, who were then in the Premier League, back in 2009. Since 2012-13 he has played for Stoke City. Last term he took part in all 38 Premier League matches, as well as featuring in two FA Cup matches and two League Cup encounters.[/article]

[article]The operation to take João Miranda to Inter Milan is practically a done deal. That was corrobrated by Italian daily 'La Repubblica' who have published details about transfer fees and payment plans as well as the terms of the deal in the transfer of the Atlético de Madrid centre-back.

'La Repubblica' report that Miranda will join Inter on a two-year loan, for which the Nerazurri will pay Atlético three million euros in two installments. Once the two years of the loan are complete, Inter will be obliged to buy the player outright and pay Atleti an additional 9.5 million euros plus three million in add-ons for the final two years of what will be a four-year deal – the fourth year however will be optional.[/article]

[article]Liverpool are plotting a shock £17million transfer move for Newcaslte United’s French midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Brendan Rodgers is in the market for a midfielder fit to replace Steven Gerrard and Sissoko, who was a key player in helping Newcastle avoid relegation from the Premier League last season, scoring four goals and providing two assists for his team-mates, could be that man.
According to Tutto Mercato, Sissoko is tempted to leave Newcastle this summer in a bid to join a team were he’ll have a better chance of impressing current French coach Didier Deschamps ahead of Euro 2016.
Sissoko’s isn’t short of admirers either, former Liverpool player Danny Murphy has previously urged the club to snap up the Frenchman: ‘Sissoko is a box-to-box midfielder, who has looked absolutely terrific since going centrally. He’s only 25 and a France international. His wages aren’t going to be an issue,’ he told talkSPORT.

AS (they're Madrid based) is saying Ramos wants out of Madrid
* Pissed Madrid didn't deny the 'Barca rumors'
* Pissed they fired Ancelotti
* Doesn't want to be treated the way Raul or Casillas was

Rumored destination: Manure or City (PSG are probably out considering they have Luiz and Silva)

Inter getting Kondogbia. Fucking hell. He would have been perfect for us

Wonder where they're getting their cash from unless they've sold kovacic. They've not usually got a pot to piss in and kondogbia must be about 25mill

Pearce from the Echo confirming our interest in Firimino.

Also saying we've switched our attention from Benteke to Bacca and Rondon.

I do not understand why anyone would go to inter at the minute

They're as a worse point than us
