Yeah sure but he's bloody good. Even a cricket loving numpty like myself can see that. Annoying but funny at the same time. I bet Fergie is just lovin this deal...

My friend who is a life-long Juventus fan thinks Pogba is very talented, but not really a leader and a key player to build your team around. He was devastated to lose Vidal and Pirlo last season and said he would much rather see Pogba go.

I think he's been given a bit too much hype just because of his great backstory, and being brave enough to bet on his own ability going to Juve.

The interesting thing is that the midfield is gradually becoming the least important phase of the game. Elite defenders will win you games by sitting back, and elite attackers can create a goal out of nothing. Elite midfielders are luxury pieces, where they can only contribute so much to either defense or attack, and having a crap attack/defense will make retaining possession much more difficult.

At this fee, Pogba is going to be asked to do a lot, with a questionable squad in each phase of the game. And as an individual in the midfield, there's a very finite amount of contribution he can make to the scoring of goals, prevention of goals, and retention of possession.

Liverpool Target Ben Chilwell Reportedly Set to Sign New Deal With Leicester City
By Lekan Shode
22 JUL 2016

Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell is reportedly on the brink of signing a new deal with the Premier League champions that will bring an end to Liverpool's interest, according to ESPN FC.

Chilwell, 19, had been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent months but the Foxes were adamant the talented teenager would remain at the club. Their reported £10m valuation of the youngster ultimately cooled Liverpool's interest, who were hoping for a £4m deal instead.

Leicester defender Ben Chilwell is set to sign a new deal at the club.

But the left-back, who appeared three times for the first team in cup competitions last season, looks set to put an end to any lingering Liverpool interest by extending his stay at the King Power Stadium with a new deal.

After a relatively successful loan stint with Huddersfield Town in the Championship earlier this year, reports claim Chilwell will become a prominent fixture in the Foxes' first team squad.

Austrian full-back, Christian Fuchs, has been the preferred choice for much of Claudio Ranieri's reign with Jeffery Schlupp acting as back up. But with the extra demand of Champions League football and reports claiming West Bromwich are keen on signing Schlupp, Chilwell looks set to have a bigger part to play in Leicester's title defence.

Whilst Leicester fans will be rejoicing at the news of Chilwell's commitment, the Foxes' gain is Liverpool's loss. After missing out on Lucas Digne to Barcelona, the Reds have been left disappointed again in their attempts to sign a player to challenge Alberto Moreno.

The former Sevilla defender was heavily criticised for his performances last season and one of his biggest critics was Anfield legend, Jamie Carragher, who was confident Chilwell could challenge Moreno for the left-back berth.

“They are looking at a young lad from Leicester – Ben Chilwell – he is someone who could come in and challenge (Albert) Moreno there, but it is certainly a position Liverpool need to full,”

Whoever it is we better get a move on, be it £15m or £20m

Lb ought to have been our first signing, instead of adding to our collection of attacking mids...

They're going to have some midfield next season if they get Mahrez as well as Xhaka. If they both hit the ground running the Arse will deffo challenge for the title.

If they manage to sign any half-decent CF, I'd back Arsenal for the title next season before any of the Manchester clubs or Chelsea. They are almost there: a far more settled and balanced squad, decent experience and leadership in players like Cech, Koscielny, and Sanchez and now Xhaka should provide steel in midfield they were sorely missing for the last few seasons. All they need is a quality alternative to Giroud.

They look good on paper every summer, and invariably look great until the heat comes on in Feb/March, at which point their continual lack of on-pitch leaders - combined with a Manager who has seemingly forgotten how to win - see they crumble in the league and in Europe.

I know, but one year it's going to all come together, won't it? Every other contender (except Spurs) will be in full-on rebuilding mode, so that's as good a chance as they will ever have.

They haven't come close to winning the league with the bones of that back 4 once. Do you think next season will be any different?

I would suggest that if you concede the same amount of goals as the Champions, and only ONE LESS than the best two defences in the Premiership, then your defence probably isn't your first concern

The agent of Ivan Rakitic.......I think it's time to go.

Will probably move to United if Barcelona sell him but you never know considering who our assistant manager is.

He would complete our midfield.

Looks like juve are spending the pogba money on higuian. Neither player worth the numbers they're going for.
