We have TWO players in the starting XI!!

premier-league

And TWO subs..

Subs

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United)
Jordan Henderson (Liverpool)
Paul Pogba (Manchester United)
James Milner (Liverpool)
N'Golo Kante (Chelsea)
Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)
Hugo Lloris (Tottenham)

Walker? Hmmmm Azpilicueta should be the RB and Luiz (if anyone as the LB).

Pogba doesn't deserve to be any where near the team, and Kante has been far more dominant (let's be honest, he made Leicester and now he's making Chelsea too) than Eriksen, who's only recently started playing better.

Yeah Kante and Matic have been really good this year.
No one in their right mind would pair De Bruyne and Eriksen in midfield anyway.

I am not quite sure how this Power Ranking thing works but it's obviously flawed and opinionated like everything else. It's more or less painting the same picture however as Squawka's list so far:

Hazard
Sanchez
van Dijk (he was missing on Sky's)
Payet
Coutinho
Koscielny
Eriksen
Vertonghen
Henderson
Azpilicueta

Agree that Eriksen was a slow starter and had some downright poor games but he has now scored 5 and assisted 4 which is around Coutinho's stats too. Made a lot of key passes, running, take-on's etc. I think that's why he's there.

Ha, yeah thought the same, that team is going to have a lot of flair but absolutely no steel. Why it has to be some stats-thingy that defines it I reckon - that doesn't care about tackles? Yeah, it's weird.

PS I know Walker isn't really anyone's cup of tea on here (which I also understand as he's really annoying), but he's been brilliant for Spurs at times. So has Rose when he's been fit.

I think the people who were voting were more Match of the day watchers.
That team is like a highlights reel.

Coutinho has basically been one of the top performers on a team that scores goals non-stop every single week ... As you say, Eriksen did nothing until the last few games ... He's no where near Kante form wise as a CM this year. Then again - no one is, so that's not a slight on him.

Van Dijk should be there too.

ANd yes, walker has been good but he's been inconsistent as compared to Azpilicueta, who plays the right side for Chelsea ...

Youve got to have Kante in the middle haven't you, probably in place of Erikson, other than that its a pretty accurate reflection of the season so far.

Interesting comparing that to Carra's and Neville's teams. 5 of those first teamers don't make either of their teams. Kante is clearly in midfield on both their lists (and in fact #1 player for the season in the 365 ratings). Front 3 are the same on both their lists.

Van Dijk and Luiz are the CBs in both their lists.

For me Coutinho has been better than Eriksen so far this Season but only by a smaller margin now, because of the latter's late run.

I think their stats are pretty much the same too (Coutinho has a better goal/game assist/game ratio) Eriksen is slightly better in the creating chances department (42/33). For me the Brazilian however has been near unstoppable when he has taken on defenders which is a big plus in his game, and he has looked more of a goal threat throughout - and played in a better balanced team.

Eriksen has struggled for many reasons I guess but one of them is down to the fact Kane has been out. Janssen took over and he has been downright abysmal which has also affected the players behind him.

PS Don't really think Walker has been inconsistent at all. He has created almost as many chances as Coutinho so far (26 v 33) and more than double the amount of Azpilicueta. I have't seen much of Chelsea, but when looking at their defensive numbers there are not much between them either.

PS De Bryune has created a lot of chances and got 9 assists but also only scored 2. He is surrounded by attacking talent and as such should be expected to deliver more in terms of chances and assists. Which he does but only by a margin of 8 chances (to Eriksen) and 4 assists. He started out like thunder but has faded some of late hasn't he..?

Other than the odd inclusion of Eriksen, which player would you suggest does not deserve a place in the team?

I've no problem with the players included I'm saying that the formation and style of players is ridiculously attack minded.

Yeah agreed

Kante is an odd omission certainly

Looking at the team and the subs bench, they've just listed the best players in the league so far (Eriksen notwithstanding)

Although the other one with Payet in it is even more troubling

Pogba shouldnt be anywhere near that team. He's been pretty average so far.

Kante should be a cert in that team.

Koscielny – good defender, but Arsenal haven't kept a clean sheet in literally months. Should be David Luiz or Van Dijk in his place. In fact I would also take out Walker and put both Luiz and Van Dijk in.

Ok I will give it a go purely from the best performers I have seen this season but you have to choose a system so mine is 4 at the back.

Lloris

Bellerin
Vertonghen
Van Dyck
Milner

Kante
Dembele

Hazard
Sanchez
Coutinho

Costa

Subs : De Gea, Azpilicueta, Ma tip, De Bruyne, Lallana, Ibrahimovich, Aguero

There is absolutely no way Azpilicueta should be missing from ANY best XI of the seasons so far - no matter where you play him in defence / wing back.
