The Canwagon

in turkish I would write his name like this 'çan' but since he is from Germany, they cant write his name like that so they write just 'Can'

Yeah, that would be helpful.

One of my best friends is Turkish. His name is written as Cem and pronounced as Jam. His brother's first name is actually Can. My friend pronounces it exactly the same as he would same the name John (he has American accent, so he says John with an "Uh" sound, not "O").

Maybe the difference between J and Ch is subtle and it could be something in between, but to me it seems closer to J than to Ch. So no Jackie Chan. More like Emre John.

So basically...

He's Can Snow

So we talk about the nature of the British game needing to change, to keep pace with the continental game, how we have to get more technical, and teach our kids to keep the ball.

And then along comes Can - Probably Skillful, good passer, but Brutish, strong in the tackle, and tough. Because that's the part of the game, the British-Irish fans respond to that mainly..

And he becomes insta-legend. So you could say we are part of the problem!

*Yeah, we've got a ways to go in changing our ways

So after talking with my Turkish friend, he says it is pronounced "jan". Not sure if this has been cleared up yet or not.

Thank you. I hope everyone will stop calling him Chan. Even LFC.tv commentators were guilty of this.

Maybe this will work:

It's pronounced JAN, like JANuary. Not Can, not Chan. JAN!

I hope he starts. A trio of Gerrard, Henderson and Can. If not I want Allen to play.

Lucas has been great away to city in the past, but I that was old Lucas. Current Lucas looks sluggish and lethargic.

Think Lucas will be more of a decent sub to sure things up in games, which is great to have especially in CL. Still, it is only the start of the season. Maybe it's harsh to be writing him off and giving most other players the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their start of season fitness.

indeed - he didn't get too many games at the end of last season after injury and wasn't playing over the summer at the WC. He does look notably low on confidence though
