What happened to Grujic?

He looked superb in pre season and a real prospect for serious game time this season?

He seems to have fallen behind everyone at the club now?

Long settling in period or doomed?

I was wondering that myself. In the summer there was a thread on here asking for off-the-wall predictions for the new season, and mine was that Grujic would be in the running for Young Player of the Year. Now you know why I never won the pools.

He's 20.

He's never played in a league this competitive before so there is an adjustment period.

Pre-season means nothing.

Klopp seems to be in no rush with the progression of any player, return from injury or promotion to the first team squad. Why rush a talented youngster in? It's a super competitive league and were hardly crying out for him at the moment.

He's had quite a few injuries aswell, he hasn't been on the bench recently because of an injury. I think Klopp is just giving him a season to watch things and settle in, there's a second half of a season to go yet though, so who knows? He might start to figure towards the end of the season.

I was wondering that myself the other day.

I also wonder what Klopp's plans are for the midfield longer term. As things stand, the midfield only seems to function when it's largely comprised of players that play turn their men and are comfortable with one / two touch football. Grujic along with Can don't quite fit that mould though of course hardly incompatible.

Will Klopp go all in on the formula that's working at the moment or does he have plans to build a more varied team going forward?

Hasn't he been injured recently ? He had match time and looked good in the LC but was injured I'm sure.
