[article]Juve have also been credited with interest over Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, but have made better progress with Reds star Can - Italian outlet Tuttosport claim the 23-year-old has agreed personal terms.

Competition for places will be strong next season at Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp will not be able to guarantee him regular first team football whilst he has Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho to choose from.[/article]

The rumors would be 27-30 million pounds for Can.

I wouldn't sell - stupid beyond belief unless he will refuse to sign a new contract, and then we have a wee problem on our hands.

If he refuses to sign a new deal i would try to sell and take anything above £30m.

What is satisfying to know is the valuation I gave our players are round about right, and some I even undervalued.

How can they agree personal terms with Can without talking to us?

Didn't we have to apologize for this?

If I was Emre I'd ask Klopp a very simple question, "will I be first choice this season or am I behind Hendo, Wijnaldum and Lallana?"

As I see it Can isn't gonna start for us so why should he stay? Sell and buy Goretzka for the money.

And Klopp will say to him that like all players you have to EARN the right to be first choice. Plus over the season Klopp favoured Can over Wijnaldum and hendo can't last a whole season so i don't see the problem.

You need to get over your Goretzka obsession....ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!

Can should imo be first choice. With Keita possibly joining, Klopp is going to have a decision to make. All I'm saying is, if he's sold that money could be used to buy Goretzka. Picking Hendo ahead of Can will be a mistake.

Modo you really need to stop hating on English players. Its unbecoming.

Cue the "72-30 mill means we only paid 42 mill for Keita, that's a good deal" posts. Like the whole Carroll debacle.

Though it would be fuck all like Carrol in that swapping Torres for Carrol is fuck all like swapping Keita for Can.

Whilst I realise this is no longer football but business I'm very much hoping Can stays with us. I'm expecting him to really push on this season.

If Can doesn't want to sign the contract then we have to get rid. I imagine he wants a bumper pay deal and assurances over his place in the team.

He's had some excellent patches of form, but when he's recovering from injury or struggling for fitness he's fucking pants. He doesn't deserve to be an automatic starter yet because he's still inconsistent and raw.

I'd prefer that we keep him... but if the fucker isn't going to sign then he can fuck off.

Do people think he's worth 120,000 pw and deserving of starting 90% of games?

I'm with Gareth.

There's no doubting Can's potential but for me he's currently behind all our established CMs with Grujic and Ejaria queuing up behind. If Keita arrives that will push him down further as Keita is not only better defensively but scores more goals - something Klopp is looking for from midfield.

So 4th choice at both CM and possibly AM/point of diamond he's not going to get many games and maybe even miss out on the bench sometimes with the increasing depth of our squad. I can see why he's worried and probably sitting on the contract waiting to see who we buy and where that may leave him.

If we get a £30-40m offer I'd sell because even if we have to add £10m or so to that I think we could get a damn good midfielder in for that money.

Can wouldn't be 4th choice. Klopp seems to prefer Can over Wijnaldum. But either way if he's not gonna sign you sell, but im hoping he signs as he's a quality CM.

Isn't this similar to how we snapped him up?

- refused to sign contract extension as he wanted more money and guarantees about playing time. His team could not agree to his terms as he wasn't playing at a consistent level where those demands were reasonable.
- loads of rumours leaked to the press about his contract situation.
- Teams swarm around, spotting a potential bargain.
- His team forced to let him leave for cheap to avoid missing out on any compensation/transfer fee.
- Can signs bumper contract with new club, paying more than he's worth to convince him to join and due to perceived savings with initial transfer fee. He also receives a loyalty payout from his previous club for not requesting a transfer and for 'respecting his contract'

Shady agent at work? Or simply a coincidence?

Can and agent aren't exactly putting a gun to anyone's head.

If Juve do really want him, they'll be putting an offer forward that reflects that. Just as we did when he was at Leverkusen.

Selling for £30m makes no sense unless he's not actually going to sign a new contract , even then I'd extort a bit more out of them to get him 12 months early.

It'd be a shame to lose him he's got a tonne of potential, demand the whole fee upfront fromnthemnifntheb are going to get him for £30m

Its just another hole to fill.

Fucking give him half Lucas wage that we are saving and sign him up.

We are in danger here of falling apart.
We have ONE good CF who is injury prone as fuck, no GREAT CM, No DM, No great CB, No great full backs, no great keeper.

We are 3 Quality AMs and nothing else.
We need to add quality before letting anyone leave. And 30m is bullshit.
Its chicken feed. Let him leave for nothing next year and add 30m onto the inevitable Coutinho fee.

If we lose Coutinho and Can this summer, I'd defy even the Happy Clapper Spastic Gang to put a positive spin on a fucking disastrous summer transfer window.
