Chelsea sold more shirts than Man United in 2015-16 but Barcelona still top global list

Arsenal are the only other English club to take their place in the top 10 which also features AC Milan and Atletico Madrid

Chelsea sold more shirts worldwide than Manchester United in 2015-16, it has been revealed.
The Blues shifted 3,102,000 shirts globally despite a dismal campaign which saw a limp defence of their Premier League title.

It means they slot in just under Bayern Munich, who sold 3,312,000, and list-toppers Barcelona, who sold 3,637,000 shirts over the course of the season, according to sports marketing agency Euroamericas.
United come in under Chelsea, with their poor season reflected by falling down the list, despite a 34 per cent increase in shirt sales.
The Red Devils shipped £2,977,000 shirts, sitting just above Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants selling 2,866,000.

Paris Saint-Germain's progression into the world's elite is further exemplified by sitting sixth in the list (2,212,000) above the Premier League's only other representative, Arsenal, who sold £2,055,000.
Atletico Madrid's continued success, which has seen them reach a second Champions League final in three years, means they take a place in the top 10 for the first time, selling 1,977,000.
Italian pair Juventus (1,678,000) and AC Milan (1,287,000) complete the list.
Despite their failure to reach the Champions League final for the third consecutive year, Bayern saw the biggest increase in shirt sales (40 per cent) marginally beating Chelsea (39 per cent).

Most football shirts look pretty shit with a pair of jeans or shorts.

Our absence on that list is down to lack of success where it matters.

Presumably that'd be disclosed by manufacturers shipping shirts not by retailers retailing shirts and therefore is wildly inaccurate.

I guess it shows how much coin adidas and Nike make from shirts though if the top 10 equates to a minimum of 20 odd million shirts manufactured

Atletico Madrid more than Liverpool? Chelsea in third?

Blag as fuck.

Believe availability of the shirts in retail outlets especially in the Far East & Middle East is a factor is as well. I live in Dubai and trust me finding Liverpool shirts is next to impossible here whereas it is pretty easy to find Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ath Mad even AC Milan & Juve shirts

Why is it difficult?

Probs coz we've got a weird make who don't have the global distribution mechanism of Nike or Adidas.

We were appaz the number 1 selling shirt in 2009, so things have fallen off steeply

Why is it difficult?

What Woland said. New Balance do not have anywhere close to the distribution coverage compared to Nike & Adidas and i am not taking about Nike & Adidas outlets. Even in independent sport equipment & apparel outlets you will not be able to find Liverpool shirts.
