Most of you probably don't know this, but I don't particularly like that little self obsessed North London club, unfortunately these games always seem to end horribly for us. However a result for us against these guys is huge for us, it will be huge for our signs of progress, we need a win.

We're on a great run of form, however we've played weak teams, with a weak middle, Spurs will not be this. Whilst attacking I think we'll do great, I dont particular rate Spurs in the defence, in the middle of the park and at the back we're really going to struggle. Dembele, Parker, Sandro which ever of those start, they're great players and they're going to make it very hard for us to play. A big weakness in our team is being bullied out of the middle, we really need Lucas to be on top form to help win this fight, as Dembele and Sandro are imposing players and wont give the midfield time to think, Allen will get shit all over. At the back, well we're lucky Defoe is injured and Johnson and Enrique are fit, because we're really going to need there pace to cover Lennon and Bale.

Our best tactic for this game is to attack and control the game, id play Suarez behind Sturridge with Coutinho and Downing out wide, with them both on watch Bale and Lennon duty. We need to control the ball and to stretch them, Sturridge will get results out of there centre backs, we just need to play the ball and not get caught on the counter, they'll slaughter us there.

If we win this, it'll be a huge statement to all the brilliant progress we've seen, I cant see us doing it though, there counter attack is just too lethal.

I have a feeling that an Italian defender will snap Bale in half on Thursday, so he'll be out.

Will be a tough game, and sooooo ace if we win

That would be beautiful! It would be fantastic if we win, its at Anfield, so hopefully the crowd really get behind this match.

Tottenham midfielder Sandro is ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.

Dont have to worry about him either

Dembele and Parker in the middle then, they are still a good combination, especially if Thor or Dempsey are sitting in front of them. I unfortunately have a horrible feeling Coutinho wont be starting this game.

Well, it's not just Bale. There's Dembele as well. And they've got a lot of pace front to back, so definitely our guys will be busting a lung running up and down with them if we're careless with the ball and lose it in the wrong places. Taking good care of the ball and closing gaps in midfield is crucial in this game.

I don't know if I prefer to have the hardwork and reliability of Henderson or the effervescence of Coutinho for this. Maybe Coutinho to start, and we hope his flair gets us a lead, and then we close the game with Henderson after the break to offer some solidity. I can also see the merits of starting with Henderson to keep Lennon and Walker honest while Suarez, Sturridge, Gerrard and Downing shoulder the attacking load.

Dembele is on 4 yellow cards. Picks up #5 today and missed the Anfield game. Sorted

I don't think Parker is quite as imposing as he used to be. Imo it's essential Henderson plays, I think him along with Glen Johnson are the only ones that can cope with Bales running.

Should be a good match up, Sturridge could be key.

Spurs and their very high line will get countered by the pace of Sturridge. Think both teams will score twice, but we'll nick it 3-2.

Spurs deserve a red considering some of the ridiculous sending offs we've got in games against them recently.

Its a shame Bale doesn't play on the right because he'd have a very hard time taking on Enrique, to be honest it would be a brilliant match up as Enrique rarely gets beaten and they're both fast and poweful runners.

Arsenal playing far too open....

Shame... a draw would have been perfect for our own slim chances of CL

Your hatred aside, how does a "self obsessed" club act ?

Probably self obsessed isn't the right term, I was going down the delusions of grandeur kinda thing. Every spurs fan I speak to reckons they're some shining beacon in football, playing the true beautiful game without much money and doing it all with young players they've created, unlike anyone else in the country, its tiresome and not true.
