I have added an experimental new feature: color code representing the current strength of the player compared to his current first-team Liverpool alternatives. This is just my opinion and I can definitely be wrong (especially trying to judge some players I had barely seen) – but I thought it would be useful to have some idea at a glance as to which of the linked players would likely instantly improve us.

Red – will walk into our first team and likely improve on a current player in his position
Orange – will be competitive in his position
Yellow – will be a rotation option, but is currently weaker than players we already have
Green – too young to make a serious impact on the first team

Please provide specific newspaper links, folks. Primary source better (i.e. if Mirror is reporting something "according to Bild", try to find the Bild article if possible)

Gibson - Mirror, ESPN

Kondogbia - France Fotball, Mirror

Gray - Mirror, Daily Mail

James Rodriguez
Isco
Franck Kessié
Youri Tielemans
Anderson Talisca
Ivan Perisic

Talisca again? Haha. No way.

I'm sure James and Isco stuff is bollocks too. Not sure about Perisic, but probably bollocks. Kessie and Tielemans already on the list.

Kondogbia doesn't seem to have any credible connection to us. The original report is from Italian Tuttosport, which mentions us and Chelsea as the only 2 suitors for the "struggling midfielder" which should trigger the bullshit alarm big time.

Ben Gibson and Demarai Gray seem to be linked to other EPL clubs more extensively than us, I added Gibson, but will wait on Grai for now because there hasn't been anything besides a passing mention of several clubs "monitoring" him, which is a normal state of things.

I think the link to Gray surfaced with the news of a 12 mill £ release clause.

Original source is calciomercato.com – pass.

He's currently in contract talks with Napoli. So, its the usual bull linking him with us and Arsenal seeing as they cant agree on a few things in the new contract.

Exactly. Whenever an article mentions contract talks, this is most likely an agent ploy to create an illusion of interest, especially if the only clubs they mention are "Liverpool and Arsenal." If Insigne was truly unsettled and looking to leave, surely there would be a few Italian clubs in the running first and foremost.

Who did I forget? As usual, all Portuguese newspapers and all Italian newspapers, except Gazzetta Dello Sport, will be disregarded as sources.

Is it just me who can't see much difference between the Orange and Yellow? Can you change one to purple or something?

To me it looks like you are saying Keane and Gibson are no better than Lovren or Klavan - when they are both most certainly an upgrade.

I actually like the colors not to be too different – because the "levels" are subjective and maybe the "orange" player and "yellow" player are not that different in reality (I'm sure @Kay Age El would put Dolberg in red or orange category!)

CB - Mahamadou Dembélé - Age 18 - Source - L’Equipe (Newpaper clipping from the article embedded on link below - Also in french via Canal)

Looks like a legit link, but let's see if he signs a contract with PSG first. In any case he's a youth team player, surely a CB of that age won't be considered for the first team by us.

Hence why I put him in Green. The contract talks have dragged on for a couple of months now. I think you can put him on the list.

Not Oncys list mind you.
