SUNDAY PEOPLE: Tottenham are closing in on £13million-rated Dutch World Cup star Memphis Depay.
SUNDAY MIRROR: Micah Richards is hoping Manchester City will allow him to resurrect his career out on loan.
MAIL ON SUNDAY: Southampton have targeted Serbia international Dusko Tosic to replace Luke Shaw.

Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen with Arsenal now ready to sell the Belgian international, according to the Daily Star on Sunday.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a permanent move to Everton, while Wolfsburg are reportedly preparing a £20million offer for the Belgium international. A quick decision is unlikely to be made on Lukaku's future, though, with the forward due to link up with Chelsea during their European tour in the next couple of weeks to be assessed by Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal are going to be strong this season and moving forwards. They're starting to reap the benefit of their long-term strategy and Wenger's ability to keep them in the top four whilst they implemented it.

I agree totally. All the Arsenal fans I know wanted rid of Wenger at the start of last season as well. The wankers.

They probably banked about 60m from the new TV deal Ken. And they sold Fellaini for 28m

Everybody can afford anybody at the minute.
I would think he would refuse it though and push for a champions league club.

Fellaini paid for the Barry + Lukaku loan deals, which were apparently the best part of 6-7M and McCarthy.

So it's all this new TV deal? Mad money knocking about if so.

Oncy and Cloggy: I'm not so sure TBH. He enjoyed himself there, he'd be a shoo-in for a regular place in the side, they weren't that far off the CL spots in the end and he might just fancy going back to try and finish the job.

Alternatively he might stop at Chavski. Mourinho may still only be taking a look at him, but that's one step closer to keeping him than has been the case up till now.

Chelsea do need a striker. They only have Costa and Torres if they let him go.

I am sure Mourinho would make it look like a masterplan rather than a mistake.

I don't think Chelsea would sell to English rivals. It would defeat the purpose of buying him young and lending him out. Everton could be an option.

Chelsea are sending Joao Rodrigues to Vitesse. He is an 18 year old Colombian striker. Never heard of him.

Douglas Costa anyone....seems like he wants to leave Shaktar.
Hasn't he stagnated sitting at Shakhtar? He's 24 already. It's a pity so many of the stars of the Brazil's u-20 side from about 5-6 years ago - Pato, Ganso, Coutinho, Costa - have failed to make an impact in the senior side.

So am I, and I agree he needs to improve in some areas, but I'm not sure his absence from Scolari's squad is necessarily evidence of that. There were more than a few raised eyebrows when that squad was named.
