Two massive games coming up in the league

Or we could concentrate on the EL, get unlucky and end up with nothing.

We're in form, we should be trying to win everything we can and hopefully one of the routes to the CL works out for us. Winning breeds winning.

Not only that but we have a strong enough squad for us to field a really good 11 in all our remaining games no matter which trophy or league game it is. The only outfield player we need to protect is Sturridge as we don't have another top class striker. I'd play Balotelli on Thursday against Besiktas and give Sturridge a break until Sunday against Saints.

v Besiktas
.................................Ming................................
..........Can............Lovren.........Sakho..............
Markovic...........................................Enrique
...................Gerrard......Henderson..............
....Lallana......................................Coutinho
........................Balotelli......................

v Southampton
..............................Ming................................
........Can.............Skrtel...........Sakho..............
Markovic............................................Moreno
...................Allen............Henderson.........
........Sterling...................................Coutinho
..............................Sturridge............................

Sorry but putting Balotelli up top on his own is a waste of time. Somebody has to be up there with him, or there's just no point. Sterling maybe?

The IBE will be unleashed!

I wonder if we will ever see a lineup with IBE and Markovic as the WBs. It would be risky, but I honestly think Markovic was a better LWB then Moreno and just as solid defensively.

I figured he'd be fine cause he's under 21. Plus aren't you allowed to add 1 in the middle of the season anyway, and he's the only squad addition.

Southampton away will be tough, but we're 9/5 to win there with some betting sites...that's very generous imo.

3 wins down 2 to go.

I'd take 2 draws now but why not be greedy.

What a result today was.

The topic is even more relevant now, considering that the next 2 games in the upcoming week for us, the Mancs and the Gooners, could possibly see a little reshuffling in placings:

3. Goons (51): QPR (a), West Ham (h)
4. Mancs (50): Newcastle (a), Spurs (h)
5. L'pool (48): Burnley (h), Swansea (a)

All teams play the first game at about the same time in midweek, but the second game comes with everyone playing a day apart - Goons first, then Mancs, then us.

We'll just have to focus on winning our first game against Burnley, hope West Ham and Spurs dent our rivals' hopes a bit, and then go out and apply the finish against Swansea.

It's all setting up very nicely for the pair of massive games after this week, which pit us in consecutive weeks against the Selfie Goons and the Van Gaalian Turds.

Apart from the EL exit which was disappointing the rest were pretty much beyond everyone's wildest dreams.

Let's hope we don't let all the good results count for little by slipping up in our next 2 games

United have an horrendous end to the season with even their 'easy' matches being away, with the sole exception of Villa or against teams hitting form (WBA at home and Palace & Hull away) :

Home : Spurs, Villa, City, WBA, Arsenal
Away : Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, Palace, Hull

I truly believe it is between us and Arsenal for 3rd and United will be fighting Saints/Spurs for 5th/6th/7th.

You've been saying this for months now and will get a huge pat on the back from me if you're right, however I cant be that confident, even despite us making up three points against United in the last two games, when our two games were Southampton and City, you just know that De Gea will somehow take them through the big games and they'll snatch fourth.

Can't see Urd hanging onto a top 4 spot much longer. I think once they drop out they'll fall away end up 7th

Next big game is United at Anfield on 22nd March.

In between then:

Us
Burnley (H)
Blackburn (H - FA Cup)
Swansea (A)

United
Newcastle (A)
Arsenal (H - FA Cup)
Spurs (H)

Two hard games in the league before then for United with a crunch FA Cup game versus Arsenal. I can see us being closer than 2 points different going into this game. Big big game. Obviously we need to get wins against Burnley and Swansea (and hopefully start clawing back some goal difference over Arsenal and United too) but that is a game I am now very excited for.

Our worse points average seems to be against bottom half clubs at home. Need to stay motivated for this.
