What did you make of 119?

The prelims were better than the main card! There were some atrocious fights. Mir Crocop proved that CC doesn't have the fight anymore and is just going through the motions, as well as showing that it's a bit pointless to be a HW at his weight. He should either try to cut down, which because he doesn't appear that motivated, isn't going to happen, or retire.
Serra v Lytle was another dumb one. I get that Serra has decided he'd like to stand and bang as they say, but when being outstruck, he just decides to keep it standing? It was more performance than a fight. You got the sense he thought it would be better for his career to spew a lot of blood than it would be for him to win the fight. What resulted was just a really sloppy boxing match where one good but not great striker dominated the other.
Then, the decisions, some bad ones, though perhaps not by the faulty scoring system that is still used:
Sherk over Dunham. I had Dunham winning this comfortably, but thought it a good fight, one of the only ones involving all the aspects of the sport.
Then almost to underscore the point, I had Bader winning a close 29-28 but it was scored 30-27 for him, indicating that they are giving him rounds based on take downs that did absolutely no damage. This isn't judo. The scoring is clearly broken when things like that happen.

I didn't manage to watch the card but from what I've read and heard sounds like you're about right.
Crocop is done. End of. His interviews are more pessimistic than Roy's at this point. And Mir still needs to learn to wrestle if he's going to beat anyone with any takedown defence. Or he can beat Chuck Kongos every few months.
Most commentators had Dunham winning too. Although disappointing for him, I'm sure, sounds like this fight won't derail his title hopes in the future.
Serra/Lytle sounds like it was at least a good show but clearly doesn't sound like Serra had his thinking cap on.
I don't mind watching wrestlers do their thing but simply taking an opponent down should not count for much on the scorecard. If you shoot and get blocked three times in a round but get the takedown (but do no damage) on the fourth, why should you win the round (all other things being equal)? You either need to do damage, advance your position, or attempt submissions. Otherwise the other fighter should get as much credit when he gets to his feet as the wrestler does for the initial takedown. Controlling a static position on the ground shouldn't be worth shit.
