Using Coutinho as a CM

Has the intelligence to play that position but not the strength, but then barca do it with xavi, chelsea do it with fabregas.

Could we mould him into our xavi?

He has kind of played there a little bit and done okay. He has better work-rate and tenacity than people give him credit for. My issue with him playing there is the fact that he's a bit inconsistent and ill-disciplined. He often looks to force the play too often rather than being patient. I think they're all traits that will resolve themselves with time, but he needs to sort them out first before we could realistically consider him as a CM.

He'd be another Mata. He's a #10 or advanced MF.

He has taken up some deeper positions with us as part of a three man midfield. Oscar does this occasionally at Chelsea too.

If you asked him, he would say his preferred position is #10.
