There's a decent argument that if Henderson didn't pick up the red card against City in 2014 we would have gone on to win the league. 3 games he missed included Chelsea and Palace.

There is no argument - we would have won it had he not got the red card. Those games under Rodgers - were his best, and if he had played against Chelsea that horrible afternoon - I guarantee there would have been no slip as he would have been the guy to recieve THAT ball. Fuck - it so painful, so close.

Jovanovic

"I'm not a scared man. I'm not going to stay in our box and wait for 0-0; it sometimes happens, but it's many times you don't find any result," he said.

"I don't believe we're the best team at defending in the box. We must be organised, we must have a plan, and we must try.
"I know it's not easy playing against a really fast counter-attack like their three front players, but we must look for our chance, be brave, and show the mentality at the end, for fighting, for running with them, for challenging with them, and for a chance to win.
"Without any doubt, I need more (from my players), the supporters need more, and the club needs more, and that's it. It's simple. They know they didn't offer enough, and we need to encourage them to push forward.

Prepare to be upset, annoyed and crushed by today's humiliating defeat. Nadir will be reached followed by a period of humble inflection. Just sayin'

Nightmares are a bitch for bringing on pessimism aren't they?

No he wouldn’t have. Gerrard played deepest.

Yes, like this team. Hopefully this is when we'll begin to look more like last season.

All the front three to score at least one.

Yep well happy with this team. This is going to be fun to watch I think. Made a couple of cheeky bets as well just to cover all bases.

Concerned that wij is gonna get bossed in midfield when he only has fabinho and shaqiri for support. in there.

Underestimating them a bit IMO.

Missing the first half cos I'm stuck in Lancaster but this is the team we need to put out. Shaqiri to grab a couple of assists

I was hoping Klopp was going to play a really strong team to blow them away and restore confidence. Let's hope that's what happens.

We just need to win, score & play well. A big scoreline isn't necessary to restore confidence, as nice as it would be, but those three things are.

Let's just try to play well & get the goal & see what happens from there.

He also said: “To be honest, after the Huddersfield game, I told them: ‘Listen, I am great, I’m a fantastic coach.’ I did a fantastic job with my staff and the analysts because everything we expected, we found it during the game.'

I hope they'll down tools completely after that.

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Shaqiri, Mane, Salah, Firmino.
Subs: Mignolet, Lovren, Milner, Keita, Henderson, Sturridge, Moreno.
So happy with that team

This game will be the return of Firmino

I hope so cos that's been the biggest difference. When he's not creating trouble for defenders the other two struggle to make their usual impact.

Doubling up on him last season didn't work cos he had the skills in his locker to make space anyway. This season he's not quite as sharp so is forced back down the pitch.

That sharpness & perhaps fitness, needs to return. Unfortunately it may require a rest to do it instead of simply playing him into fitness. Him getting an imaginary injury just before the next international break would be excellent for us I think.
