So the internationals are finally over. I don't think we have any players who are coming back from WC play off disappointment which is good (unlike our opposition).

Mane potentially injured. Hendo was injured before the break, who knows if he is back?

I think we'll play:

---------------Mignolet-----------------
TAA-----Matip---Gomez---Moreno (wouldnt be surprised to see Gomez RB and Klavan CB)
-----------------Can--------------------
----------Gini------Coutinho---------
Salah-------Firmino-----Oxlade-- (could also see Studge over Oxlade)

Thoughts on a post card. Any other injury updates? I don't think Lovren would be put into a game against Saints in this current situ..

I have my doubts about Mane's "slight injury recurrence", but I suspect if he plays it won't be the full match or may sit it out, simply cos he's still being eased back in.

I actually don't want Hendo to play, so not arsed about him, I've fucking had it with him.

I would expect Mane to be fired up against his old team, but maybe better off the bench if he's on the cusp of recovery.

Will be interesting to see VVD at Anfield.. and his interactions with our players & with Klopp

I wonder if Coutinho would go straight back in after missing a few games. I suppose he didn't seem to be struggling physically in the international friendly, even if he was mediocre

Bench could be interesting with Lallana, Henderson and Mane all possibly involved

Welcome to the dark side re: Hendo.

Only alteration I can see is Mane playing first 55-60 mins for Oxlade.

However knowing Klopp he'll probably play Klavan with Gomez at RB like you said. And have Oxlade playing.

I love Hendo - but not as the DM. I'd love to see us try and play him further forward, like he did in 13/14

Welcome to the dark side re: Hendo.

I've been pissed off with him for fucking ages, even when he was at his best I said I wasn't convinced. he just doesn't fit in, he's not good enough to be an AM or better than the ones we have, he's not good enough at the full range of passing consistently enough to work as a lynchpin CM, & he is absolutely fucking awful at DM or trying to play even a more defensive CM role.

Add into all that, he's been in poor form for what feels like forever, so he's not even better than the other options we have, which arent exactly stellar.

In theory

Firmino
Salah
Sturridge
Coutinho
Mane
Lallana
Ox

All available for the first time. I presume based on favouritism, Klopp would have the Ox, Lallana and Sturridge on the bench out of that if they were all match fit.

Not sure. Lallana seem to be a favorite. Maybe instead of Gini the Pooh.

Our summer transfer plans will be decided by who scores for Soton on Saturday then..

Is Lallana back? Even to make the bench?

I wonder whether Ings' recent form would justify a spot on the bench..

Klopp won't rush Lallana back into the side when there's no reason to. I doubt Mane was actually 'injured' at all. A good excuse to let him leave early for his NT manager though.

Lallana and Hendo will be on the bench I suspect but as we are almost back to full strength it will be interesting to see who misses out. Milner may regret not wishing to continue at LB. I imagine Woodburn will certainly be relegated back to the U23s and either Sturridge or Solanke may also miss out completely.

I was thinking the same. Actually, that's my premise for every game.
Lineup - Hendo = ok with me.

Don't really get the Hendo hate - He does a lot of good work that goes unnoticed. I'd rather him there than Gini the pooh. Having said that I thought Paul Konchesky was a shrewd signing. Goes to show what I fucking know! ;)

Insane position we find ourselves in when more than just the odd crack pot prefers our captain not to be in the side.

Did Mane, Coutinho, Firmino and Salah start any games together this season, or would that be the first time (hopefully)?

Doesnt have the pace/mobility to do that anymore, sadly. Injuries have fucked him up. He should be nothing more than a squad played for us now.
