When the result mattered just a little less

In honour of the baby O'Hare, what was the result of your first Liverpool game as a parent (or other landmark occasion for virgins or non-parents)?

Mine was a 2-1 home win against Spurs on 3 May 97...goals from Collymore and Berger.

First game after number 2 came along was a 0-0 draw at Highbury (9 Jan 99)

First game after number 3 was a 1-0 home win over Bolton on 9 April 06...Fowler got the goal.

On the day I got married we lost 1-0 at Wimbledon (Babb og)

Luke: we beat Reading 2-1 (Kuyt late winner) on the day he was born (April 2008)

Harrison: Lost 1-0 to the mighty Stoke (Sept 2011)

Isabelle: Beat Wigan 4-0, Suarez hat-trick (Mar 2013)

My daughter a few days before we played the Mancs at Anfield, 25th of October 2009. Torres and N'Gog, 2-0. .

Whenever she watches the game with me, we usually win. Lucky charm..

Not to go off topic but randomly the Newcastle 4-3 games coincided with terrible nights for me and my family.

The first 4-3 occurred the night of grandmother's funeral. The second one was overshadowed by half of our house burning down due to an electrical fault.

We should have a 'not like' button. Sorry to hear that mate.

We beat Birmingham 7-0 3 days after Molly was born.
Bruce teams had a hoodoo over us so it was a great victory and we went on to pick up the FA cup in Cardiff with Gerrard scoring that screamer and Pepe making the best save I have ever seen a goalkeeper make.

The night of the infamous Roma away game in 2001, my daughter arrived a bit early. I had a few pints thinking I was good to go, so ended up at the hospital in the early hours still half cut, asking for coffee and paracetamol, while my Mrs was in pain. All the while the highlights of our win kept showing on the TV in the room.

I popped out the delivery suite to get a coffee, on my return I went into the wrong suite, there's a girl there with her legs in the air and her partner sat next to her. Not my finest moment, or hers.

I was at that game with a Brummie mate and then at the final with Young Peggy. Good times.

Was that the one where Riise scored the volley after it was flicked up for him from a freekick? I remember a brummie in the crowd sitting there applauding the goal.

One other, slightly off topic one from me. I watched the Barcelona '07 game (goals from Bellamy and Riise) flat on my front as it was precisely one week after major spinal surgery. I was off my head on morphine but I do remember thumping the floor in celebration and almost pissing myself laughing at Bellamy's goal celebration (I might actually have pissed myself because I had very little feeling in my legs at that time).

That's the one. Absolute screamer. Sami scored after about a minute and we could have had 15!

I think, although I'm not sure, that there was also a lunar eclipse both of those nights.

It was something like that anyway.

Nearest I can get to this is when I went on my first holiday to the States the day before we lost 4-3 to Palace in the Cup semi-final, with Pardew getting the winning header. I phoned my sister (who's also a Red, because of me) specially to find out the result.

My first cousin's two year old son was being waked the night we won big ears in 1984, having been killed in a road accident. Bitter sweet memories of that one.

To be fair youve had a kid the week before most of our games the last 15 years.

My best mate became a father last night for the first time. He's usually a lucky soul and has only seen us lose once at Anfield in God knows how many games. 1-2 Chelsea when we were quite happy to drop points as then Utd wouldnt win the league.

Anyway, with his daughter being born just before the City game I'm expecting a similar lucky story to when mine was born right before our 2-0 win vs the Mancs.

When my first kid was born we went to Old Trafford a few days later and won 4-1.

Then a few days after that we went to Madrid and won 4-0.

I was convinced for a few days that my son was the 2nd coming of a Liverpool related God and we would never lose again. Didn't work out like that.

Wedding day: 10/21/00 - That morning, we beat Leicester City 1-0 at home. Emile Heskey

Andie: 02/03/04 - Next game a few days later, 2-2 vs Bolton at home.

Alex: 01/13/06 - We beat Spurs 1-0 at home the next day.

Since my girls got here, I'm been very lucky with all of my teams, seeing something won almost every year since...

2004: Red Sox title.
2005: Istanbul.
2006: The Gerrard Cup Final.
2007: Red Sox title.
2008: Celtics title.
2009: Irish Grand Slam.
2010:
2011: Dublin All Ireland, Bruins title.
2012:
2013: Dublin All Ireland, Red Sox title.
2014: Irish Six Nations.
2015: Patriots title.

Lost to United after my first, beat City after my fourth. The others all born outside of the season, although the 6th came home as United were losing Champions League final to Barcelona.

Y'all going on like having a kid is a big deal, as if it takes skill.

It's like having a shit.

Not really sure why you're going here, mate... You beat us fair and square - Well done.

Worthy winners. But we've won 4 times in 14 years, and we're champions right now... I know which team's been better overall and again right now.

I'll never tire of poking fun at Pats fans, man. Think Eli's dopey grin. Its just a source of happiness to me for us to interact.

Dude, also, think Barry Bonds, no one cares how good the Pats have been.
