[article]BRAZILIAN goal machine Gabriel Barbosa wants to prove himself in the Premier League – and dreams of lining up alongside Roberto Firmino.

The pair are set to clash later this month in the Club World Cup after Barbosa’s heroics for Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores final.

Nicknamed Gabigol, the 23-year-old scored 43 goals in 56 games while on loan from Inter Milan, including the double that saw off River Plate.

Inter could cash in to the tune of £20million by making his loan move to Brazil permanent at the end of this month.

But after struggling in Italy, Gabigol has set his sights on the Premier League after being inspired by Liverpool hero Firmino.

Barbosa, who was targeted by the Reds in 2017, said: “Firmino is great, I really admire him. He’s been successful for many years in Europe.

“He is a powerful forward and he has been great for Brazil. He is an inspiration that I look up to.

“It would be a pleasure to play with him. Maybe we could team up for Brazil in the future and Liverpool is a team that everyone wants to play for.

“But it’s hard to talk about this at the moment. My focus is totally on the Club World Cup.

“I like the Premier League very much. It combines technique, strength and speed. I always follow the games from Brazil.

“It really is a place I would like to play. It’s one of the best leagues in the world.

“Every player dreams of being a champion and winning the Premier League must be indescribable.

“But I still have a contract with Inter Milan and Flamengo until the end of 2019.

“We have a very important tournament ahead and my whole focus is on it. I will think about the future after this competition.”[/article]

Small point but when did a passing accuracy over 80% become a boost? That’s the minimum surely?

Over 90% then maybe.

Depends on which player. Some of the players in midfield and defence only rolling the ball to the nearest guy will boost 80. An attacker will not I guess

Damn it, I was right!!!

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that four of his young players will be involved against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup, despite their inclusion in the 23-man squad for the Club World Cup.

"The situation is, in this moment, we have 16 adult players, so hopefully in two weeks, if everyone is available, we fly with the 16 there and the four boys come later," Klopp said. "It is a completely normal decision.

"They play the game the day before [at Villa], we play on the Wednesday, they come in and watch the game and they are available for the possible final or the other game.

"But if we don't have 16 - because that is the number you need - then we have one, two or three there to replace them because we can do that with injuries. That is the situation.

-------

Probably won't change a damn thing but at least we get to see Jones and Elliott play.

Strikers are usually in the 70% range, sometimes below. Defenders in the 90's, midfielders could be anywhere from 60's to 90's passing accuracy depending on their skill and role in the team.

Normally the more adventurous a player is with his passing the lower his passing accuracy is. Having a forward with a high passing accuracy can mean he is too cautious rather than being very good with the ball. Messi, as a good benchmark ;), has an 81% pass accuracy this season. Our team 's anomaly is that our RB is also our most adventurous passer. TAA is given leeway to try the difficult passes that are harder to complete, manifesting in a 74% pass accuracy. Am I correct in feeling that Hendo (lacks some technique tho) and Trent's % has taken a hit due to all the crosses while simultaneously feeling that Salah just is that few percentage points more sloppy than Bobby and Mane? Lastly Virgil, he has the most passes in the premier league and with a high % but is often pinging difficult probing passes. He has time on the ball because he's rarely ever closed down because he can just flick the ball and brush past most players with ease. Its a joy to watch.

2018/19 season:

Keita's numbers are excellent (considering he doesn't just play safe passes). Origi needs to do better.

Eh? That’s exactly what he does hence his accuracy is so high. That and he has played fuck all so a tiny sample size

Curtis Jones now has the bragging rights of being the top of the passing table with a perfect 100% accuracy :) Origi still needs to do better.

Only 2 CBs. Presumably Hoever comes out after the Villa game, now it has been established that is allowed (I think)

I think Klopp said in his press match conference that he would travel with the squad, even though he didn't know the state of the injury at that time. So not sure this means he is definitely fit.

Though if it was bad, you would expect him to stay behind to get treatment
