In fairness to City...

Manchester City have said that any suggestion a chant apparently sung by some of their players and backroom staff as they celebrated winning the Premier League title mocks Sean Cox or the Hillsborough disaster “is entirely without foundation”.

A video emerged on social media on Tuesday which appeared to show City players and staff singing a distasteful version of Liverpool’s “Allez, Allez, Allez” song as they travelled on a plane following Sunday’s victory at Brighton which clinched the title.
The song makes reference to Liverpool fans “crying in the stands” and being “battered on the streets” at last year’s Champions League final in Kiev, which Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid. It also contains the lyric “victims

A City spokesperson said: “The song in question, which has been a regular chant during the 2018-19 season, refers to the 2018 Uefa Champions League final in Kiev. Any suggestion that the lyrics relate to Sean Cox or the Hillsborough tragedy is entirely without foundation.”[/article]

If we win #6 I would sincerely hope we sing about our achievement and our heroes. Who gives two fucks for our rivals?

Say thanks to Spurs for giving us a good game then paint Madrid red for a fortnight

Yeah.. when the game happens and Salah bags a brace, and Mane and Bobby one each.. we can work on adding those verses too!

Has this sing song hit our TV screens or any newspapers in the UK?. I've only seen it here and on twitter.

It was on the BBC News app but didn't make any references to Sean Cox in it and had some comments like "this was a popular city song all season" and "it is unknown if this was players or just staff" even thought david fuckin silva is belting it out holding the PL trophy!!!

Victims.. battered in the streets. Errrr

It almost as bad as an alleged rapist
coming out with the excuse I slipped which led me to accidently sexually pentatrating her..

This is just the players doing what the fans have been doing, trying desperately to create a rivalry to give their own club some meaning.

Their club celebrated their league win with an orchestrated stage event whilst people chanted generic player names & clapped politely.

They're hollow, soulless. A small club with unfathomable riches, but a small club nonetheless.

They want an identity so badly, & we have identity, so creating a rivalry with us is the only way they can justify & attempt to measure their success.

The best thing to do is simply to ignore it, ignore them, cos they'll go away eventually, & we'll still be here, a hundred times the club they'll ever be.

The best thing about this is how it will feed their "they've all got it in for us" tin foil hat mentality.

Any punishment or fine would send them into a frenzy.

City will prob worm out and say battered on the street was not in connection to Sean Cox who was attacked in Rome and not Kiev.

It's just stupid morons singing moronic songs. One of their own staff leaks it then.

He was actually attacked in Liverpool

Anyone can say "oh that doesn't refer to that specific incident", but if it doesn't, then it obviously refers to other incidents where Liverpool fans have been beaten up on the streets .. so that's OK then?

And everyone knows the term "victims" when applied to us is from the "Always the victims, never your fault" chant, which quite obviously refers to Heysel and Hilsborough

Alright lads.. so be gentle... not done this before.. but I was inspired having seen that City song last night..

Decided to make my own in response to City trying to hijack/re-work Allez Allez Allez..

Chasing 6 in Maaaadrid,
Looking for victorieeee,
You won number 6 at Brighton,
By breaking FFPeee..
By Fouling on the piiiitch,
By Doctoring the boooooks,
City won a treble,
But no one gave two fooks!?!

Allez, Allez, Allez,
Allez, Allez, Allez,
Allez, Allez, Allez.
Allez, Allez, Allez...

Plastic fans with plastic flags,
Pack your Tinfoil hats,
Heard a mouse piss on cotton,
Down at The Etihad..
Human rights abuses,
Cases with authorities,
Inflated sponsor deals
Club record transfers fees..

Allez, Allez, Allez,
Allez, Allez, Allez,
Allez, Allez, Allez.
Allez, Allez, Allez...

Everyone's against you,
UEFA refs and VAR,
Money bought you success,
But it couldn't buy you class.
Pep's surely now the greatest,
Killed football; we're all done,
A billion dollars spent,
No Messi, no CL titles won..

Allez, Allez, Allez,
Allez, Allez, Allez,
Allez, Allez, Allez.
Allez, Allez, Allez,

===
Should we win number 6 in Madrid, the first two lines can be re-worked into:

We won number 6 in Madrid,
Now that's what you call historyyyy...
... etc

Its really good ... but we shouldn't sink to their level and sign songs about them. Our songs are always about us or the team we are playing at the time. On the occasion we do reference other teams ("We hate Man Utd" "Barcelona, Real Madrid - who the fuck you trying to kid" etc) its still in a song that ultimately celebrates LFC

Oh was it Liverpool, apologies. Oh, don't get me wrong, the lyrics are there in black and white. Yep, they actually use the word victims. I'm just saying I bet City try and worm their way of out it and play dumb, which looks like they're doing so already.

Tbh their owners have been denying training terrorists, human right abuses and genocide for the dawn of time so it's hardly surprising

They could have just come out with something like "In their exuberance the team sang a regular chant from this season matches, without fully realising the implications of some of the words. We apologise for any offence, which was not intended", instead of trying to deny the obvious meaning of the lyrics.

But, as stated, they have no class

Man City being denied their supposed god given right of winning the CL by English clubs 2 seasons on the spin is one delicious positive to come out of it all. If UEFA knock them out for a hat-trick of european failure it will be even sweeter.

Soulless video banner cunts.

Great post, agree with everything you've said except for the bit in bold. City aren't going anywhere, unfortunately.
