Risky bet so I'll keep it small as I do rate Swindon quite highly. £10 lay of Swindon winning at Wycombe to win £8.

I don't often bet on individual games during the playoffs so this could be my last bet before the World Cup.

£39 lay of Millwall to get promoted this season to win £25 (my target was to win £24 but the extra £1 will put the balance at exactly £500 if succesful.

I layed millwall at 2.56 (about 6/4) because they should be about 3.2 (9/4) so it's a bargain price.

Leeds should be 1.25 (1/4) to beat bristol rovers at the weekend and Millwall should be about 2.6 to beat Swindon (both these prices are my opinion and not a guess at what the market will price them at). This means that i reckon Millwall are 10/1ish for automatic promotion.

If Leeds get promoted I would suggest that Swindon are marginally the best team of the 4 in the playoffs, Millwall and Huddersfield are both decent and Charlton are dodgy. I reckon Charlton should be no lower than 3.6-3.7 in the play off and with a 10% discount for their chance to get automatic that equates to about 3.2 (the price I reckon they should be).

Hopefully, if Millwall don't go up automatically, they will get either Swindon or Huddersfield in the semi final and then the other one in the final if they survive - making their progress very tough.

In short, I reckon Leeds will go up on saturday and Swindon will win the play off.

Jaysus Dancing Brave yer a thick bastard sometimes...................Mis-read the last post of last season and thought I needed to win £50 to cover the previous losing bet but if I'd read it more carefully i would have realised that I needed to win £78.

I actually won about £100 on the game but for the sake of this challenge I'll stick with my declared bet of £50 profit.

    Bank at £486.

Haha, yeah it was a stupid bet and reminds me why I rarely bet on strong favourites at short prices. In the whole scheme of things it's not a major issue - I did say earlier in the thread that I don't use the martingale system in it's strictest interpretation and at least 50% of the bets in this thread were not part of my actual betting scheme (although I did actually place all the above bets).

My total loss on the Southampton game was actually over £400 but as I'm over £18,000 (from a £1,000 start) up over the last 4 seasons I know I'll get the money back.

My next martingale bet (which probably won't be this weekend as I can't see much potential) will be aimed at winning £600 which will get me my money back from the last 3 bets with a very small profit added instead of £800 which I should be aiming for if I went by the "rules" of the Martingale bet.

My way allows for 6 or 7 consecutive losing bets before I break the bank, and considering my worst run (which I'm currently equalling) is 3 consecutive losing bets I SHOULD be okay.

About 4 years ago when I started making decent profit I accepted requests (from a couple of Brothers and a friend or two) to invest money for them and I went on a bad run (by bad run I mean less profitable not losing) and I realised it was because I'm not bothered if I lose my own money but the pressure of dealing with other people money made me too cautious with my bets.

There are 3 or 4 people who phone me at 2:55 on match days to ask who I'm betting on and that works because I don't know how much they're betting and it's not my responsibility.

It is quite amusing at 2:55pm because I request nobody phones before that time as I have to check all 92 teams from 2:30pm on Saturday and sort the bets out before kick off at 3pm. I get about 4 calls in that 5 minute period - "Hi how's it going?" "fine, bet against Palace beating Scunthorpe at 2/1)""great thanks"-"see ya"

The Palace not to beat Scunthorpe was this weeks bet but I also advised not to stake too much on it.

You should have a 2.55pm thread Pesam for betting folk to profit from your skills. And honest betting folk should cut you 10% of their winnings.

I'll post one or two next weekend as I go along but 2:30-3:00 is very hectic checking all 92 teams so it won't be much before 2:45 and probably after 2:50.

Smallish bet tonight - laying Dagenham winning at home to Exeter. Exeter's midfield looks better than the Dagger and although I'm not impressed with either forward line Exeter's offers slightly more. Defensively they're both ok.

Edit: And for anybody watching the Spurs v Arsenal game tonight there's an 18 year old kid Stephen Caulker playing CB for Spurs tonight who was hugely impressive for Yeovil on loan last season and he could go on to be a very good player.

Edit 2 - Just noticed Henri Lansbury is playing in the same game for Arsenal - he may never make it to arsenal's first team as a regular because he plays CM and will have to compete with Fabregas, Ramsey and Wilshere amongst others but he's definitely got enough talent to play in the PL.

I'll start a thread next week and (I'm away tomorrow) and postmy 2:55pm bet each week. For the record I like the look of Pompey tonight and have layed Leicester City winning at Fratton Park.
