Man of the match - Game 45 - Chelsea - Home - PL

So many great performances : VvD, TAA, Matip had a great game, Robbo, Mane, Salah, Hendo Fabinho and Firmino. No-one had a poor game. Superb all round performance from back to front. Tough for any of the above to miss out.

How to pick just three :

Mane - terrified them. Played from front to back and played great everywhere. Awesome.

Fabinho - absolutely immense he only played one poor pass (and that in the 93rd min) all game. He seems to just have the touch and pick the right pass even under extreme pressure.

Firmino - absolutely everywhere. Even Robbo couldn't stay with him today. What energy.

Hard one to say, but in terms of pure quality I thought the top 3 were:

Henderson a powerhouse.
Salah was immense.
Mane a nuisance.


Honourable mentions to Trent, VVD, Robbo, Bobby, Fabinho, even Keita in moments.

Only one I thought was shaky was Matip.

Matip & TAA had to face Hazard all game and even then both shared the game high number of tackles (4) apiece ;)
 
All round great performance. Bar the madness in the middle when we could easily have leaked three.

I was particularly impressed by Fabinho today. Under pressure from a Chelsea side that were chasing down every ball, he was constantly pinging passes to red shirts.

Have to agree on everything you have said.

@mom - i do not think the madness would have happened had we not been 2-0 up. They had those chances because we wanted to rape them more - so for 10 minutes of that game both teams were going at each other like crazy. They missed their chances. Which begs the question why did they miss those chances ? Fate

Absolutely agree but his contribution seems to have gone under the radar. He was the one keeping it all together and was key to the flow. Great performance in both defence and attack.

It's why I don't have Hendo in my Top 3, massive effort and a lovely assist but his stats otherwise don't live up to his billing even though he was very visible. he played really well but wasn't as effective, for me (and his pass % was second lowest in the team), as say Mane, Fabs and Firmino.

I'd go with this in any given order.

Fabinho for twatting Hazard early on and setting the tone. Salah for his what the fuck even was thatness. Hendo for gladly proving me wrong and being a total don
