So you know him? Does he speak German?
I don't really know Paul (pronounced Powel) the Last time I saw him would have been 2011 or 2012. I worked in his primary school and taught him on and off between the ages 4 and 7 years old and again for about 3 months before he moved to his secondary school. I don't actually know if he speaks German sorry.

Cool story anyway though. Hope he makes it!

[article]Rhian Brewster wants to kick on and keep adding to his Swansea City goal tally.

The 19-year-old striker scored his second goal in four appearances for the club as Steve Cooper’s side picked up a draw at Preston.

The teenager showed a poacher’s instinct to get himself in the right place at the right time to convert after Andre Ayew’s shot had been saved by Declan Rudd.

The on-loan Liverpool forward has made an impact since his arrival from Anfield, and he wants to keep boosting the Swans promotion hopes by continuing to improve in the weeks and months ahead.

“That’s two goals in my four games for me now. I’ll take it. I’m just trying to help the team get promotion so anything I can do, I will,” he said.

“It wasn’t the cleanest of strikes; I just tried to get something on the ball because I knew it was an open goal, but they all count and I’ll take it.

“Hopefully, I can keep kicking on now. We’ve got a home game against Derby next week to look forward to.

“I’ll try to get another goal if I can and help the boys get the three points.

“There are no easy games in the Championship and we’ll prepare as much as we can to be ready.”[/article]

[article]Steve Cooper has praised Rhian Brewster’s work-rate after the striker added to his Swansea City tally at the weekend.

The 19-year-old put in another industrious display as the Swans claimed a valuable point against Preston at Deepdale, capping it off with a close-range finish after Andre Ayew had been denied.

He was a constant thorn in the side of the Preston defence, and was given a warm reception from the travelling support when substituted late on.

And, while head coach Cooper was keen to focus on the collective effort of picking up a result against a side boasting the Championship’s best home record, he was pleased with what he saw from the forward.

"Rhian did well, although I don't want to focus too much on the individual performances,” said Cooper after Brewster made it two goals in four appearances since arriving on loan from Liverpool.

"At the training ground and at the stadium, we always look at the collective.

"We really looked like a team in this game in terms of supporting each other.

"Rhian worked hard and looked a threat. He can be a real nuisance.

“I'm sure he was difficult to mark for the Preston centre-backs. And the most important thing was that he scored by getting himself into the sort of areas we want him to get into.

"It was a good performance from Rhian, but it wasn't the only one at the top end of the pitch."[/article]

[article]Goalkeeper Andy Lonergan says his Liverpool team mate Rhian Brewster would've been the perfect signing for Preston North End.

The former PNE 'keeper joined the Anfield club this summer, training with the young striker every day prior to his loan move to Swansea last month.

So it turned out Brewster came to Deepdale and found the net in opposition colours, scoring the Swans' equaliser in last weekend's 1-1 draw.

And while North End are going well in seventh spot, Lonergan feels the signing Brewster would've been a huge coup for the Lilywhites.

Lonergan was speaking in an interview with BBC Radio Lancashire which you can listen to in full here.

"Rhian Brewster is a natural goal scorer," he said. "I said to him, and I know it's optimistic, I think he'll score 15 goals from now until the end of the season.

"That's how good he is, anything in the box he reminds me of Jermaine Defoe when I was young and training with England.

"He's like him, as soon as that ball drops in the box no matter where he is it's bang, either foot, power and precision = he's just an absolutely outstanding finisher.

"I know Preston were interested in him, and he spoke to me about Preston, and I just said ‘you could take them up’.

"For whatever reason, it never worked out, but I think he could have been the difference.

“He just spoke to me about it, I spoke really highly of the club, I spoke to someone at Preston and said ‘you’ve just got to do all you can to get him’.

"Obviously, he’s got links with the Swansea manager, and it’s not always straightforward - I don’t know if Preston made an approach for him, but there’s not many of them strikers about."

North End haven't struggled for goals by any means this season - Alex Neil's men have found the net 43 times, which is two more than fourth placed Nottingham Forest.

But Lonergan, who played with David Nugent in his Deepdale days, says a clinical number nine is something his former club lacks.

"I know there was a big clamour in January for Preston to sign a striker.

"In my opinion they're missing a ruthless striker but there's not many of them about.

"I will never say Nugent was a natural goal scorer, he scored really good goals."[/article]

"Boriniesque", is that a compliment?
He had a 3 month loan spell where he scored 6 in 12 games and contributed to their promotion to top flight.

He worked his socks off against Nottingham Forest in both legs of the play-off semi-final, and in the final he was excellent.

The Italian won the second penalty against Reading and he was a constant menace through out.

He celebrated the awarding of the spot-kick like he'd scored in the World Cup final. He will forever be remembered for that.[/article]

Loan star's increasingly impressive return
Brewster's touch and finish to get Swansea back on level terms on the stroke of half-time were a sight to behold.

The 19-year-old had barely kicked a ball at senior level prior to joining Swansea on loan from Liverpool until the end of the current campaign.

But Brewster's strike against Tony Mowbray's side was his fourth since re-uniting himself with Cooper.

And it means his personal record stands at almost one goal in every two matches for the Swans which is a hugely impressive achievement for a player so inexperienced at this level.

Away from his goals, Brewster put in yet another monumental shift to ease the pressure on those behind him.

And his tireless efforts have played a significant role in Swansea's defensive improvement of late.

Granted, they're still conceding goals, although they have looked better at the back since the dramatic 4-4 draw with Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

He's fast becoming a player Swansea fans will look back on with fond memories in years to come, most likely when Brewster is plying his trade at the highest level.
