I think his agent kinda did that last summer. There was a lot of talk from Kia Joorabchian about how special Liverpool was to his client, how he continued to love Liverpool, and that a move to the likes of United would be impossible for him. There was deffo some eyelid fluttering.

It was rumoured that he did during the summer but Barca want their money back and we don't want to pay it. We weren't even interested in a loan.

Didn't they say at the time that for some reason the loan fee to a British club was a lot more than to bayern, and that's why spurs were out of the race? Also when he went to Barca he took a pay cut, so where the fuck is that massive salary coming from?

    I smell bullshit

There was deffo an impediment that reduced Spurs' ability (or inclination) to bring in Coutinho, Pochettino has been grumbling about it ever since.

Not sure about the massive salary, given what he was on at Barcelona, it all becomes relative; wouldn't surprise me if he took a pay cut and was still the highest earner

It says annual salary of 21 million. When he was here he was 170 a week and that went down. Call it 150. That's 7 million a year. Definitely bullshit. No way is he on 400 a week.

All this makes the Real Madrid owner a know it all, I remember his interview on this thoughts on the Barca chasing after him and getting him. He was like laughing and astonished at how much they were willing to pay for a player that has actually struggled to become a first team starter at the previous clubs, and also commented on how he was not that impressed with this spell on loan to Espanyol. So we have been very lucky to offload him at that price, and get some proper heavy weight replacements.

I suppose it's possible that Gomez has made himself very unpopular with black people. I'd imagine Raheem is one of the most respected young black men in the black community and Gomez was trying to put him down in front of a load of pissed up scousers. Sterling spent years putting up with a load of racially flavoured hate and tried to turn it into a reasonable calm discourse. Gomez was sucking up to the people most responsible for the hate. What they used to call an Uncle Tom.

They had a higher loan fee for everyone initially. No clubs from the premier league were willing to pay that and the premier league transfer deadline passed. Now only clubs in the continent could purchase him. At that point, I think Barcelona were forced to reduce what they were asking. I think that is why Bayern got him for a lower loan fee.

Hahahahahaha. Makes perfect sense now, the booing was from all those black England fans in the crowd. Very culturally diverse, the England fanbase.

    It's proper victim mentality.

To be fair there are some on RAWK now going on and on about how Joe Gomez should never play for England again, the media is victimizing him etc etc.

Obviously not quite as bad as the Fume but you can see the type of thinking that it originates from.
