We are apparently looking to Launch a £30 million bid..

Though we may have to compete with the new found riches of Neverton to buy him..

I take it our scouts have a base in Southampton then ?

WTF is the committee doing? 30 million for him? I bet there's like 5 players at his level in France/Germany that we can get for a total of 30 mill
We've been down that road before and bought shit but 30m is a tad pricey maybe 18m

I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't be less enthusiastic about a transfer window. We have no European Football, everyone expects Klopp to attract the cream of the crop from Germany, and Coutinho is yet to have his will he/won't he saga really kick off. Same old, same old. And now we're linked with our customary Southampton signing for the standard, hugely inflated price. No doubt identified by our committee, given it's the blueprint of previous signings that were blamed on the managers rather than the club.

Different manager, same old shit. Who'd have thought it.

This will be bull shit and the papers are keeping his price high. He will sign for Everton for around £20 million 😉

I dont get the same shite - different manager, in all honesty.
We've been after Gotze, Dahoud and Dembele and signed Matip and Karius so far.
Not Ashley Williams, Bogdan, Lambert or Balotelli.

The transfer window hasnt even opened yet and already people are having minor fits.
Soton dont need to sell and he'll cost 40 mill £. We wont be signing him for that type of fee.

I actually like Mane, but 30M is quite steep. 22-25M is probably more realistic, but there's plenty of demand right now...

I guess we will have to just wait and see unless someone has a crystal ball that actually works lol :banghead:

I think people are still expecting prices from a few years ago. Every team has shitloads of cash now. 20 million isn't that much anymore . Scott Dann is supposed to be costing Everton over 15 million. In that sort of market I can't see Southampton, whose owner is worth a lot more than Everton's new billionaire, selling for 20 million.

Hopefully we find someone better before we spend 40 million on him.

I think we are toying with the possibility to probably think about launching a £30m bid.

Heady days of journalism.

Cleary we are after Leroy Sane... but a breakdown in communication like 'Chinese Whispers' the papers had it unofficially confirmed as Sadio Mane...

Liverpool launching 30 million bid for Sane

'Oh another Southampton Player..'

Liverpool launch 30 million bid for Sadio Mane

We can launch whatever bid we like though can see saints holding out for 40 million as will pay what they want as per Lllallana / Lovren

Hes 24
Scored 23
Then 13
Then 15
Goals from midfield in the last three seasons
Hes a brilliant player, and a much bigger goal threat than anyhing we have.
Why we arent expecting a 30m fee for a player like him is beyond me.
Im not saying I want or would pay 30m for him and wouldnt look elsewhere, but hes a bang tidy player.

I don't mind us overpaying on players we all agree are very good. It's overpaying on the ones that we're split on is the problem.

Coutinho is definitely going to Barca isn't he.. ?? this guy (if the stories are believed to be true) is probably being earmarked as his replacement...

His stats are similar to that of Coutinhio.

Sadio Mané (born April 04, 1992) is a Midfielder for S'hampton and wears the shirt number 10. At 24 years of age he is 175cm tall and weighs 69kg. Sadio Mané has a BMI of 22.5.

This season Sadio Mané has made 37 appearances in the English Barclays Premier League.
Sadio Mané has a Squawka rating of 4 stars out of 5 with a Performance Score of 678. His best game of the season was against Manchester City where he earned a Performance Score of 127.

His worst game this term was against Liverpool where he accrued a score of -39.

Sadio Mané, in the English Barclays Premier League, has scored 11 goals this season, creating 41 chances and six assists. Sadio Mané has completed 776 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 81%, of which 60% were forward passes.

The problem with this period every year is that the club insiders seldom actually tell the hacks anything. So they chat to the agents all the time instead. And what they get from the agents tends to be a confusing mixture of four things: 1. one of their clients ought to be a target for such-and-such clubs, even if none of them have shown any interest so far; 2. one of their clients hasn't been contacted by a certain club, but the agent would be grateful if the hack reports that he has; 3. one of their clients has indeed been contacted by a certain club and he's keen on going there; and 4. one of their clients has indeed been contacted by a certain club and, although he doesn't want to go there, any reports that contact has been made might alert those clubs where he DOES fancy going.

The hacks are't concerned to distinguish between all of these. They all sell papers.

So it's hard to know which, if any, of the current stories are true. Have we really tried to sign these players? Don't just accept it. For all we know the club is busy talking to a whole different set of targets. I wouldn't get too anxious about t all at this stage.

This is about right and also reason why we should not buy domestically based players if we can avoid it - and so far, we haven't.

They don't need to sell? What the fuck does that even mean? Why have they sold Lallana, Lovren, Schneiderlin, Lambert, Shaw, Chambers and Clyne in the last two years?

Why have they let Koeman go? Why did Pocchetino leave?

They aren't a club who want or indeed are capable of keeping players or managers. They may usually extract a decent price/ compensation in exchange, but their model appears to be entirely based around selling

So we are now targeting players who endured their worst game against us?

That's a new approach at least.
