So I've caved to the missus and agreed to go on a beach holiday in the first week of January.
I usually do a great job avoiding tourist season when on holiday, and I fucking love Johannesburg during the festive period when everyone pisses off on holiday.
I've managed to swerve these for the past 17 years, so I guess I can't complain too much about a week on a beach.
The main reason we're looking at Thailand is that there's no visa requirement, but there are a million fucking resort options and it's a bit overwhelming trying to pick one.
Anyone have recommendations on a resort or part of the country that would be relatively quiet and good for a week of total leisure?
We're likely to take in a local tour or two, but the main purpose of this trip would be to unwind and do as little as possible in a beautiful setting.
