Preliminary parts of a fitness test could be done by someone we work together with in France..
Just to get an opinion on the previous injury etc.

[article]Nabil Fekir has passed a medical with Liverpool ahead of a £60m move from Lyon, according to French FA president Noel Le Graet.

“He's in the middle of negotiations and I think it's done,” he said. “I spent 15 minutes with him this morning [Saturday], and he's worried by the France team. He's in good spirits.

“He passed his medical in Clairefontaine. That's logical, we've done it for other players. He was looking forward to it because the visit he had was positive.”

Hopefully its bull. He is a 27 years old, there are cheaper options like Houssem Aouar

are you talking about that Fekir link? It’s two years old, it was only brought up to prove players get medicals on international duty

I’m not saying the Konate reports are in anyway accurate, but it’s not inconceivable that if you wanted to you could complete blood and urine tests, ECG, echo, mri or ultrasounds, etc, through staff at Clairefontaine. So I’m not sure I understand some people’s befuddlement

Its not overly surprising when it comes from someone who would only believe it if the information was retrieved from a lost server in Frankfurt, a nutty professor in Italy or directly from Giuliani YouTube video.

My issue with it is, we haven't submitted a bid (at least that's the narrative from Leipzig) nor have we triggered the release clause.

Therefore it's highly unlikely Leipzig would give us a green light to conduct any part of a medical.

Therefore if we had requested one, it would be considered as 'tapping up'. Its not like this is transfer deadline day where we are in a rush to sort everything.

If this was Real saying they'd conducted part of Salah's medical, what would the logical reaction be from a Liverpool supporter? It's either bullshit or its tapping up. Works both ways.

It’s pretty common for remote medical assesments, think pretty much all of Kabak’s medical done at Schalke.
As long as the owning club has given consent then don’t see the big deal for early checks which I guess is the initial key. LFC it seems have a good relationship with RBC group I guess and wonder if they have given indications we would meet the buyout...

To be honest, to do these an early medical offshore makes sense with a player who’s had injury record over the last 2 yrs to do this and waste the poor fellas time to have him come over and then reject him over a full medical assesment later. It at leasts ensures both parties can proceed with some early pre assesment already done and if they aren’t met then the player’s future is not tarnished over a subjective issue.
Not sure what happened with Fekir but pretty sure the poor fella could have joined another top 4 club anywhere so not sure if the rumours of medical failure put off other potential suitors...

[article]RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konaté will not be joining Liverpool this summer, despite reports in England about a move.

That’s according to SportBILD, who say Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff has been told by Liverpool that the defender is ‘not an issue’ for them.

The Reds are likely to be on the hunt for a new centre-back this summer, with Jürgen Klopp’s side in desperate need of a long-term partner for Virgil van Dijk once he returns from injury.

They have been linked to several around Europe, but Konaté recently raced to the top of the list when reports in England stated they were close to a deal.

Indeed, it was even claimed that the Frenchman had undergone a medical ahead of the potential move.

That is something they have disagreed with somewhat in Germany, where it was claimed that Liverpool had not even made a ‘concrete offer’ for the defender.

They follow that up today and say that after the loss of Dayot Upamecano, a move for Konaté is also ‘imminent’ as he can leave for €40m.

However, they insist ‘his new club will not be Liverpool’, explaining that following the rumours in England, Mintzlaff called his Anfield counterparts to ask if there was anything in it.

He was reportedly told that the defender is ‘currently not an issue’ for the club. In other words, they are not thinking about a move presently.

Of course, that could change in the coming months, but it seems, for now, Konaté is not at the top of Liverpool’s list.[/article]

Yes, all hail King Rosco. Spotter of obvious bullshit that gobshites like Hansern fall for every time.

Can I get a collective apology to @Rosco now please?

k thx

The SportBILD is the worst newspaper in Germany, so I wouldnt take much notice of this until someone more credible reports it.

Or if it appears on a server in Frankfurt, a signed document from a nutty Italian professor or if Giuliani has a press conference at a funeral parlor saying Konate isnt signing.

Very weird that the athletic mouthpieces would run it without their being smoke/fire etc.

I expect we will still sign him

My thoughts are that talks have taken place between club and agent.

Agent leaked said talks to The Atheltic because Konate isn't playing regularly.

Talk of a medical was just pure speculation though.

Of course this is just my opinion, none of us actually know for sure.
