Has Trez definately signed for Heracles then?

We could pinch him surely.

i'm relieved we didn't buy cole.

shame we didn't get rid of lucas nor manage to get any money for insua, especially as we seemed to have agreed c4 million for him twice!

hahahaa if he had a hard time with the liverpool fans, the cunt couldn't have chose a more ridiculous club to go to. in fact we might have sent him there deliberately as revenge for costing us £4m. hahaha stupid cunt hahahhaa

Im glad we didn't spunk circa £10m on Cole.

I'd like to think we'd be under new ownership with some dollar being pumped in before the January window at which point we can invest in some half decent centre forward if necessary. The Perpetual cycle of dross was my main pet hate under the Rafa regime I don't want that to continue under Woy.

I'm glad we didn't spunk money on Cole in the end, not that kind of money anyway. That said, it's also worth considering that Rafa stuck to his principles last season of playing one striker, no matter what. Hopefully Roy won't be so stubborn and will at least try and compensate for Torres' absence by playing two from Kuyt/N'Gog/Babel/Pacheco/Jova. That 'could' make a difference.

I'm not Mark. I think Cole is a far better option than any of our supposed back-up, and I think deep down every other bugger knows that too

Cole really did smack of a 'best we could afford' signing (as does Konchesky)

Whilst I'm not too gutted to miss out on someone like Carlton Cole, we really did desperately need another striker.
I disagree. We have been bamboozled into thinking Jovanovic is a LW. He is a striker. With a one in two goal ratio for his club and one in three for his country. Carlton Cole can dream of those figures.

Whilst I agree that he a striker masquerading as a winger, his 1 in 2 stats are from his time spent in Belgium. He won't score anything like that many here.

Signed last Saturday according to my Juve-supporting cousin, whose info is usually spot on.
He only needs to HALF that record to beat Carlton Coles stats.

BBC now announcing plessis has gone!
So Plessis and Insua have gone.

Thats better news than any signing we could have made.

If Lucas had also gone, it would have been the equivalent of us signing Messi. On a free.

Obviously it's not.

If Roy had placed all his striker eggs in the Carlton Cole then that was a really short sighted move. Cole is no world beater but is a half decent Premiership proven striker.

I'm not sure if he would be better than either Babel or Jovanovic if they are given a run. Needless to say that time will tell.
